A teaser trailer for the new Amy Winehouse documentary shows previously unseen footage of the singer ahead of its release date in the summer.

Directed by BAFTA award-winning Senna director Asif Kapadia, the film Amy is due to be released in UK cinemas on 3 July.

It tells the late singer's story in her own words and shows previously unseen archive footage of her and showcases tracks which have never been heard before.

The trailer features a montage of a young Amy along with a voiceover of the singer, being interviewed talking about herself, her music and her future.

When asked how "big" she thinks she will be she says poignantly: "I don't think I'm going to be at all famous. I don't think I could handle it. I think I would go mad."

The six-time Grammy award winner made two critically acclaimed albums, Frank and Back to Back.

But struggled to cope under the attention of the media and its interest into her private life and subsequent battle with drink and drugs.

She died from alcohol poisoning in July 2011 at the age of 27.
