A Cinema, hotels and parking charges: Brent Cross in 2020?

articlemain

This is what Brent Cross Shopping Centre could look like by 2020, if a £4 billion expansion scheme is granted planning permission.

Brent Cross co-owners Standard Life Investments and Hammerson released this computer-generated image this week showing the proposed development, which will include two hotels and a cinema complex.

Building work is expected to commence at the end of 2015 and could last up to five years.

Standard Life’s head of UK development James Stevens said: “Regeneration will support 27,000 full-time jobs and lead to a huge boost for the area.”

But shoppers at Brent Cross will not be pleased to hear that, along with the improved range of shops and restaurants that is promised, parking charges are also on the way.
