Naomi Alderman launched her writing career with largely well-received novels about a rabbi's lesbian daughter and bright young things at Oxford.
But her most recent work has taken her down a different fictional path: Borrowed Time is a BBC-commissioned story about Dr Who.
A fan of the show since childhood, she revealed in an interview this week with the Forward, that dad, Professor Geoffrey Alderman, has a soft spot for sci-fi, too: he has even penned a so far unpublished tale about time-travelling Jews.
