Natalie Imbruglia cancels Israel concert and BDS campaigners claim victory

articlemain

Pop singer Natalie Imbruglia has cancelled a concert in Israel.

The Australian-British singer, known for her 1990s hit "Torn", announced on Sunday she was cancelling the show planed for March 1 in Tel Aviv.

Event organisers said the singer had cancelled due to "logistic constraints". However, BDS activists are claiming the move is as a result of their campaigning.

The singer apologised and has vowed to reschedule the show.

Anti-Israel organisation "Don't Play Apartheid Israel" set up a Facebook page dedicated to calling on the musician to cancel the concert, which was to be part of her current tour.

Any fans who bought tickets would be given a full refund, according to the concert producers.
