Israeli Ambassador Mark Regev's previous experience of Britain was only on fleeting visits, except for a three-week stay when he first came here as a 21-year-old in 1982. The Australian-born envoy is now the picture of diplomatic society but you might have thought his younger self was on the way to Glastonbury.
