They may be in their nineties, but they haven’t missed a step. Jewish actors and comedians Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner and Norman Lear all appear in a new HBO documentary about life as a nonagenarian and beyond, called If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast.

Other actors making an appearance in the documentary, which is narrated by Reiner, include Kirk Douglas (now 100) as well as veteran (non-Jewish) actors such as Betty White and Dick Van Dyke.

At the premiere on Wednesday night, Messrs Reiner, Brooks, Lear and Van Dyke took part in a question and answer session at the screening, as reported by the Press Association.

When asked whether any of the men had considered retiring, Mr Brooks said “I thought of retiring Carl, but he won’t”.

The documentary is set to air on HBO on June 5.
