Last orders at terminal bar

articlemain

Leafing through Hertsmere Council’s online planning, as one does from time to time, I noticed an application for Bushey Cemetery.

As the west side of the cemetery is rapidly filling up, the United Synagogue will be using the eastern part of the site more in future and intends to instal some new facilities.

They include two prayer halls, a landscaped pond and a reception hall — with a café.

A cappuccino might help to keep the mourners going in between funerals, particularly on a chilly day.
But if they really want to warm the spirits, then perhaps they could apply for a licence, too.

A few reminiscences over a whisky might be just the thing at World’s End or The Last Resort.
