Two Jews having a shmooze might not raise many eyebrows, but when the people in question are former Foreign Secretary David Miliband and journalist Jonathan Freedland, we would like to be a fly on the wall.

Fortunately, we can just sit in the audience instead - the two will be in conversation at the JW3 centre in north-west London on November 16, discussing the global refugee crisis and the international community's response.

In his current role as chief executive of the New York-based International Rescue Committee, Mr Miliband is following in the footsteps of another Jew. The IRC was founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein.
