Congratulations to Mayor of London Boris Johnson, who has struggled to make it on time to a couple of recent Jewish events. But his train delivered him with perfectly punctuality for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Jewish Community Centre last Thursday.
The Mayor, however, could not recall whether his office could claim any credit for granting planning approval to the state-of-the-art building that will open in two years - until the project's founder Dame Vivien Duffield put him right.
"Thank you, Boris, if you did play any part in it," she said, "I don't believe you did."
