Artist and filmmaker Tal Rosner needs little introduction — he lets his work do that. Mr Rosner, 30, has won a Bafta for creating the opening sequence for acclaimed television youth drama Skins.
Shown on E4 and Channel 4, the series follows a group of teenagers from Bristol as they experience love, family life and growing up. The third series started on E4 this Thursday.
Mr Rosner started creating the opening credits for the series three years ago, after being approached to do so.
“I like working on Skins because there is a lot of place for innovation.” he tells People. “The team comes up with groundbreaking ideas and the show has had a lot of input from young people, so they can relate to it.”
Mr Rosner, who graduated with an MA from Central Saint Martins in 2005, is believed to be one of the youngest filmmakers to win a Bafta for Best Title Sequence.
He is also well known for his visual interpretations of musical compositions. In April 2008, his 29-minute video piece In Seven Days — in collaboration with the composer Thomas Adès — premiered at London’s Royal Festival Hall as a part of its reopening season.
The piece was co-commissioned by the London Sinfonietta and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and had its US premiere at Walt Disney Concert Hall in May 2008.
Born in Israel, Rosner now lives in central London.
