The United Synagogue has reached a deal with the rabbi of Britain's largest Orthodox congregation who took the US to court to protect his job.
Rabbi Mendel Lew, senior rabbi of Stanmore and Canon's Park Synagogue since 2006, won an interim injunction last month to stop the US holding a review into his professional capability.
A further High Court hearing had been scheduled to take place later this summer. But now the two sides have settled out of court, although the terms are to remain confidential.
In a joint statement, the US and Rabbi Lew said they were pleased to have reached an "amicable agreement and will be working together… to support the thriving Stanmore community".
