Stephen Fine provides families with their own CCTV

articlemain

Next time you are about to go on holiday and panicking that someone might break into your house while you are away, drop Stephen Fine a line.

The London entrepreneur has created Bizcam, a company which provides affordable internet CCTV.

Launched last month, it enables users to view the footage online or from a mobile. Mr Fine explains how he came up with the idea: "I set up a monitor in my baby daughter's room so we could keep an eye on her from a different room." Then, milkshake chain ShakeTastic asked him to install cameras in their stores. Realising the potential, he left his job at geographical information systems (GIS) to launch Bizcam. "I am currently focusing on the domestic market and small businesses." He has installed cameras for those who want to check on an elderly relative or pets during the day. And no, he is not allowed to view the footage.
