‘Neo-Nazi’ music festival in small Scottish town cancelled

Hundreds of far-right rockers had reportedly been due to descend on Bathgate

An alleged neo-Nazi music festival taking place in the Scottish town of Bathgate has been cancelled.

Anti-fascist watchdog Hope Note Hate had claimed that around 250 far-right rockers were due to descend on the West Lothian town this weekend.

Tonight’s event was said to be taking place at a local music venue, Midnight Breakfast Club.

But in a statement on their Facebook page, the club denied involvement in the festival, stating that the claims were “fake news” and “unfounded rumours”.

Hope not Hate, which reported today that the festival had been cancelled, had called on members of the public, local organisations and political figures to take action to stop the event happening.
