Auschwitz survivor Lily Ebert MBE is 'on the mend' following surgery this weekend.
The 99-year-old Holocaust educator was hospitalised earlier this week and underwent surgery on Saturday, according to her great-grandson Dov Forman.
Forman, who runs her social media accounts and is the author of the best-selling Lily’s Promise: How I survived Auschwitz and found the strength to live, took to Twitter to thank everyone for "all your kind words and prayers, it means so much to us as a family.
“The surgery went well, and we now hope for a full and speedy recovery. Please continue to have Lily in your thoughts, as we pray for a full recovery.”

Earlier this year Lily was awarded an MBE by King Charles for her services to Holocaust education.
Along with her great-grandson Dov, she helps to educate and inform young people about the Holocaust through books and social media content, particularly on TikTok where she has garnered more than 2 million followers.
In a forward to Lily’s Promise, King Charles paid tribute to Forman who he said, “demonstrated a determination to share his grand grandmother’s story with a global audience.”
Lily, whose Hebrew name is Sheindel bat Nissel, helped Maccabi GB raise thousands of pounds for Jewish charities at its annual fun run in June.
