The organisation which represents Muslim students has held its first conference on campus extremism.

The Federation of Student Islamic Societies' Radical Thinking event took place at UCL last Friday.

It heard from speakers including David Knowles, a police liaison officier with the government's Prevent anti-terror strategy, and Mehri Niknam of the Joseph Interfaith Foundation.

Fosis, which represents more than 90,000 Muslim students in Britain, has previously been criticised for its reluctance to criticise, or end, invitations to hate speakers.
