An 11-year-old boy was stabbed in the Israeli city of Ramle on Monday afternoon.
A 17-year-old suspect was apprehended after police are investigated the incident in which the child was reportedly approached by a man with an Arabic accent asking him a question. He then reportedly stabbed the boy with scissors.
After the attack, in which the boy sustained a moderate injury to his upper body, the assailant fled the scene.
The boy was taken to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Tzrifin.
Police set up a road block around Ramle in a search for the assailant and said they were investigating whether motives behind the incident were criminal or nationalistic.
