Nigel Farage has expressed his admiration for the Jewish community in Britain, describing it as “an example to us all”.
The leader of the UK Independence Party lauded Jews’ contribution to British society, praising them for “being involved and taking part in Britain’s life, business, the arts, science, law”.
He said: “You name it, there isn’t an aspect of our lives that hasn’t in part been shaped by it.”
Mr Farage’s comments came a week before he is due to be the special guest at an exclusive discussion evening hosted by the JC. The MEP will be interviewed by the newspaper’s editor, Stephen Pollard, followed by an open question and answer session.
“I am thoroughly looking forward to it,” he said this week. “I am expecting that it will be an entertaining and educative evening, certainly for myself and I hope for the audience.”
He added: “As always, the best bit will be the Q and A session.”
The event, which is free, will be held at a venue in north-west London on Wednesday July 10.
