UJIA Scotland's annual dinner was a sell-out success with scientist and TV presenter Lord Winston drawing a crowd of 250 to the Giffnock Synagogue Banqueting Suite on Monday.
In conversation with Scottish broadcaster Alan Douglas, Lord Winston discussed the influence of Judaism on his life and career. He also answered audience questions.
The dinner raised £81,000 for UJIA programmes for young people and educational activities in the UK and northern Israel.
UJIA Scotland campaign co-chair Richard Pinder said: "For a small community to have such a turnout is great also from a fundraising perspective. It was wonderful of Robert Winston to give up his time."
