Red bread helps Manchester Fed

articlemain

Manchester welfare charity The Fed has gone into the red to raise funds.
To celebrate “Fed Friday” on February 6, a red challah — the colour of the charity’s branding — will be produced by the State-Fayre bakery and will be sold in six kosher shops.

“Fed Friday” is intended to raise funds for and awareness of the charity’s work. Supporters are being asked to host an evening meal. They will receive a pack, sponsored by Osem, with details about the charity, a raffle ticket and “donation invitations” for their guests.

According to marketing officer Joyce Khan: “The beauty is it speaks to the full spectrum of the Jewish commmunity, which The Fed helps on a day-to-day basis. Whatever a person’s religious observance, Friday night means something to most people, whether it is a religious affair or family event.”
