Moving times in Edgware

articlemain

An Edgware Masorti congregation has found a new home, having been forced to relocate by the projected closure of Brady Maccabi youth club.

Kol Nefesh Masorti Synagogue had held Shabbat services at the youth centre for nine years, but has now met for the first time at Jewish Care’s Leonard Sainer Centre in nearby Rectory Lane.

“We have had fantastic co-operation from the staff of the centre and from Jewish Care,” said convenor Mike Fenster. “We’ll be making full use of the space available to offer a range of Shabbat and weekend activities as well as our regular egalitarian traditional services.”

Over 60 members and friends attended the inaugural service in the new premises.

Kol Nefesh had been given four weeks notice to quit Brady’s Manor Park Crescent building in January. However, the congregation had remained as Brady could not sell the property.
