Ilan Klein was called out to the aftermath of a drive-by shooting in the West Bank in which Eitam and Na'ama Henkin were killed. Mr Klein also featured in a film shown to the 220 guests about the work of MDA medics.
For light relief, there was a performance by comedian Jack Whitehall.
Manchester MDA chairman Jeremy Hart said afterwards: "It was incredible to see so many young people in the room tonight. The future of MDA, both here and in Israel, is in safe hands."
