Mr Regev thanked the organisation for helping children in Israel by providing them with 70 per cent of the funds it raises.
He said: “The importance of this charity should not be underestimated - children are our future and we must protect them.”
Nicole Gordon, executive director for the charity told guests about two projects the charity has launched to mark the anniversary.
She said: “In our 70th anniversary year, we are looking to make an even greater difference.
“We are looking to rebuild the playground at Tsad Kadima in Israel for children with cerebral palsy and here in the UK we are looking to refurbish a hub at Step by Step in London, to create the perfect environment for children with special needs.”
