Big brother stars get backing from Boris

articlemain

Boris Johnson has presented Camp Simcha volunteers with a Team London award, recognising exceptional service.

The charity supports seriously ill children and their families and the award honours its 120 “big brothers and sisters” — the mentors and special friends to the sick children and their siblings. They visit the children each week and take them on outings. Camp Simcha volunteers Gideon Glass, Danny Younger and Dalia Coleman collected the award from the Mayor.

“Boris Johnson said he was delighted to meet us and congratulated us on what we do for Camp Simcha,” Mr Glass said. “It was a real honour to be chosen to receive the award on behalf of all the big brothers and sisters.”

Camp Simcha chief executive Neville Goldschneider praised the volunteers as “a special and unique group of people who are so generous with their time and love. They are devoted to the children they support.”

Team London director Natalie Cramp said the volunteers’ “sheer dedication makes a big difference to the lives of their fellow Londoners.

“Congratulations to the big brothers and sisters who are incredibly deserving of this recognition.”
