Danny Caro's Team of the Week: April 23

Here are the star performers from Matchday 30 of the MGBSFL.

articlemain

1. DAVID SACAL (ML Lions A) - first Mexican to play in the League Cup final. Excellent handling, kicked well, made some crucial saves and commanded his area

2. ZAC NEIMAN (Redbridge JC A) - took his first major cup final in his stride. Kept Max Kyte quiet and didn't deserve to be on the losing side

3. DAN GRANDITER (Hertswood Vale) - "Slotted in well at left-back, and eventually right-back for his first game in three months. Solid display going forward and defensively. Unlucky not to bag a goal"

4. ALEX TAYLOR (ML Lions A) - many defenders would have buckled against a Redbridge front line featuring Dean Nyman, Sam Sollosi, Daniel Garfinkle and Russell Goldstein, but Taylor remained calm at all times. A rock solid performance (Ed. must have been all those matches marking me at Powerleague!)

5. JON ELLIS (ML Lions A) - my man-of-the-match. Produced a number of heroic blocks in his penalty area. Looks refreshed after a sabbatical and a perennial winner at Wingate

6. ROB BENSON (NL Raiders B) - " scored one and put in a superb cross to grab an assist for Jake Gilbert;s goal"

7. JOSH GORB (Hertswood Vale) - "Fantastic display from the first-half sub. Gave Redbridge's full backs no chance with two well-taken goals, before putting in a superb performance in an unfamiliar LB position where he bagged two assists for our final two goals. A young Nacho Monreal. Man of the Match"

8. HARRY GRAHAM (Hertswood Vale) - "9 goals in 10 games this season. Who knows where we'd have ended up this season if he wasn't in Bristol most weekends. Took both his goals well. Unlucky not to grab a hat-trick as his shot crashed against the post last on"

9. DAN BANETH (Camden Park) - three goals ensured there was no happy ending for SPEC FC

10. JONTI AREMBAND (RC UK FC) - hat-trick hero in the demolition of Boca

11. ADAM ARNOLD (ML Lions A) - scored a cracking opener and set up the winner. Really stepped up on the big stage

STAR MAN: Jon Ellis (Lions)

MANAGER: Ryan Springer (ML Lions A)

REFEREE: Stuart Ansher (Boca Jewniors vs RC UK FC)
