Redbridge Jewish Care cup final pen pics

Meet the Redbridge Jewish Care A players gunning for glory in the Cyril Anekstein Cup final at Wingate & Finchley on Sunday morning.

articlemain

Redbridge JCC is the major communal hub of the Redbridge Community and the Football teams are a huge part of that.

The Men’s teams were formed out of the merger with Barkingside over 15 years ago but the club has always had Football with a thriving Junior programme.

The club is led by Chairman and manager of the A team, Jon Jacobs who also acts as Chairman of Redbridge JCC itself and is ably supported by Vice Chair Richard Bronzite who also sits on the main board with him.

These are exciting times for RJC as the centre is also subject to a multi- million pound development so a great time to be party of Redbridge JC.

PLAYER PROFILES

DAN LEE (GK) – Dependable keeper who has been super solid all season - his only mistake coming when he forgot it was Mother’s Day this year, not sure he wanted to go home after our morning game.

DANNY BERG (RB) – ‘Bergy’ our captain and ever-dependable full-back. Jacobs' leader on the pitch, loves to moan to refs but always consistent in his performances.

RYAN COLE (LB) - Outstanding left-back, bags of ability, technically gifted and a contender for Player of the Year, loves a big night out, especially before football.

ZAC NEIMAN (CB) - Fantastic debut season, calm and cool under pressure and great passer of the ball.  Destined for representative honours for sure.

DARYL RUBIN (CB) - Rolls Royce of a defender. As he has got fitter, he has got better and has been brilliant since coming into the team. Another brilliant debut season.

ADAM HAKIMI (CB/DM) - A great player and club man to have around. Has found appearances limited this season but never lets anyone down when taking his chance. Still loves a tackle, especially when it means going to ground.

DANNY HAKIMI (CB/DM) - Another great club man, like his brother, who has contributed greatly to the club over the years. Has played a full role this season playing at centre-back, can always be relied upon.

MATT BERKLEY (RM) - returned from university this year and has been a fresh addition to our squad and has come on and scored some important goals too. He also gave us comedy moment of the season when falling over his feet in one game just as he was about to shoot.

SAM SOLLOSI (RM/CM) - Another master-class season from the middle, it is now just expected that he will be outstanding such are his standards that he has set. Scores goals but love seeing his mazy runs when he confuses opponents.

BEN SOLLOSI (CM) - The last month has seen the older Sollosi really step up with barnstorming performances, goals and some brilliant tackles. Loves to moan, especially to referees - our most booked player - normally for mouthing off rather than a poor tackle.

NATHAN SOLLOSI (CM) - Jon Jacobs "is sure" Nathan is supposed to have been at Uni this year. He just keeps popping back to play for his beloved Redbridge. He has great technical ability, loves a battle and is their best threat with his aerial ability which is outstanding.

SAM McCARTHY (CM) - Loves a battle and has been great in the holding role - RJC's N’Golo Kante. Not the quietest player, loves a shout on the pitch but a great character.

JAMES BERKLEY (CM) - RJC's  “quiet and unassuming” player who just gets on with it. Does the right thing and whether it is doing lung-busting runs or chipping in with some important goals. He is Mr Consistent.

DANIEL GARFINKLE ( LM) - One of the more "eccentric" players RJC have, "loves to moan before, during and after games," but has been on fire since Chanukah. Terrorises defenders with his raw pace and has added goals and assists aplenty.

DEAN NYMAN (CF) – A JC favourite. Like a good wine, Deano gets better with age and has done a superb job leading the line and he is RJC's top-scorer as well. He bullies defenders and occupies the whole back four. Likes to party so won’t need any excuses if RJC win, especially as it is his final season.

STEVE SUMMERS (CF) - Has been out with long-term injury for most of this season but has not let anyone down since his return. A true legend of the game and someone you can guarantee goals from..

RUSSELL GOLDSTEIN (RB/RM) - Brings a lot of laughter to this team with his great personality and stories. He has also brought his Futsal technique and ability and has the stamina to bring a bit of magic on the pitch.

JON JACOBS (Manager) - Doubles up as chairman of the club. Has been part of Redbridge for 17 seasons now and loves nothing more than celebrating a Redbridge win.

PETE SOLLOSI and HOWARD KEMP (Assistant-managers) - Both have been a huge part of the success of the team in recent years, always calm and helping to bring some sanity pitch side when in the heat of the battle.

RICHARD BRONZITE (Vice-chairman/club secretary) - without Richard, much of the success on the pitch would not happen as he is the calm voice off the pitch and organises things behind the scenes without fuss.

Club colours: Purple Shirts, White Shorts, Purple Socks

Sponsors: Simon Brody and Steven Goldstone from Jump Evolution
