MGBSFL PREMIER DIVISION

HMH 5 FAIRLOP FC 0

Another stormy day but this time there was no mistake for HMH, as a treble from top-scorer fired the treble cup semi-finalists to comfortable victory.

HMH knocked on the door from the off, with Dan Hardoon testing the Fairlop 'keeper and Sammy Kingston firing in from a free-kick, only for it to be chalked off.

However, HMH no. 1 Alex Davies was called into action straight after, as from a rare excursion into HMH territory, Fairlop won a free-kick and from the second ball, Fairlop won a penalty. But Davies came to HMH's rescue, proved his worth by saving the spot-kick low down to his right.

From then on HMH pressed and probed, testing the keeper regularly but it took a wonderful move involving a defence splitting pass from Eli Wegrzyn and a quick low cross from Leo Berger to the orushing Max Bull to tuck home.

With the the wind at their back, Fairlop pressed at the beginning of the second half as they looked to level the scores. The Essex boys tried their luck with a couple of pot-shots from distance which Davies was equal to.

HMH turned up the pressure towards the hour mark, and Wagner fired a worldie from 25 yards in to make it 2-0.

A third goal quickly followed as good work from Eli Wegrzyn and George Goldberg allowed Wagner to he fire in his second from close-range with his left foot and finished off his perfect hat-trick soon after with a lovely header from an in swinging cross from Ethan Krell.

Krell himself rounded off a great team performance with his own goal from a Wagner cross.

HMH boss Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: “After 30 minutes, I thought it was going to be another one of those days where we played some great football but a combination of good Fairlop goalkeeping and poor conversion stopped us from scoring double digits.

"However, our class really shone through in the second half and we won at a canter, even without the likes of Prais, Norton, Moss and Monjack."
