Manchester Maccabi 2nd 0 Sporting Manchester 0
Martin Simons, the manager of Manchester Maccabi 2nd, was left frustrated after his side were held to a goalless draw by Sporting.
Despite dominating possession, Maccabi failed to find a way past their opponents in their latest MAL Division One clash.
With Josh Hayes and Emile Davidson both absent, Simons’ side lacked the necessary firepower to make the breakthrough.
Max Rose hit the woodwork late on but Maccabi were forced to settle for a point.
“We dominated the game but lacked the cutting edge,” said Simons, who works alongside Jonny Rose.
“We hit the post but the unavailability of Hayes and Davidson really did curtail our attacking options.”
Meanwhile, Leeds Maccabi 2nd slumped to a humiliating 9-1 defeat against Queenswood in the Sunday Alliance Division One.
Maccabi were missing a whole host of players through injury and were shown little mercy by their rampant opponents.
Simon Fisher's side were left with ten men for the second week in the past three after losing players to injury and fell apart as the goals continued to rain in.
Nick Vale grabbed a consolation but it was too little too late for Maccabi, who remain bottom of the league.
