AUBREY CUP
HADLEY WOOD & WINGATE 3 LONDON LIONS 1

Andy Landesberg insists London Lions only have themselves to blame after they bowed out of the Aubrey Cup following a 3-1 defeat against Hadley Wood and Wingate.

Hadley Wood took a very early lead which lasted until the 50th minute when Charlie Kasler drew the sides level.

The hosts went on the score a second and third to finish the game off in the second half despite Lions rattling the woodwork three times.

Disappointed Lions boss Andy Landesberg said: "This was another match where the amount of chances we had in the first half should have killed the game.

"We struck the bar three times, missed one from four yards out and had two close-range shots which went just wide of the post.

"The second half just wasn’t good enough. We got back into the game with a great goal and momentum should have carried us on but we gave away two sloppy goals."
