Shim Bensoor, James Joseph and Jeremy Julius helped newly-promoted FC Team C make their intentions clear with victory in a five-goal thriller over FC Team B.

FC Team C started off well in the first half and they forged ahead with a fine goal from new boy Joseph. Some good link up play between the attack and midfield allowed the former Brady man to run through on goal and deliver a sublime chip from just inside the area.

However, the B's pushed the C's back in our own half for the rest of the second half. Although the C's maintained possession, they were playing too deep in their own half and lost their shape. Goals from Eddie Sternberg and new signing Paul Savitz enabled the B's to go in 2-1 up at half time.

FC Team co-manager Ben Gilbey gave an inspiring teamtalk and changed the formation. Super-sub Jeremy Julius came on at half time, and clearly wanted to really impress his managers. The mercurial talent drove to the byline and delivered a super cross for the hard-working Bensoor to finish.

With this instant response, the C's took control of the game but they were finding it difficult to break them down as well as David Gordon producing some great saves in net.

With the introduction of injured captain Jamie Breslaw for the last 15 minutes, he provided the boost the C-team needed. A searing run down the right created space in the box. Breslaw found Julius in the box, he calmly dribbled around several players in the box and slotted home for the win.

FC Team C joint-manager Michael Myers told JC Sport: "It was always difficult playing against our B team - they are a physical, well-organised team and we had to dig really deep to overcome the 2-1 deficit at half time, to run out overall winners."

FC Team B boss David Gordon told JC Sport: "I was proud of the boys – we were the better team in the first half and we stopped the C’s from playing their football with an extra man in midfield. We worked hard and were deservedly in front at the break.

"Unfortunately we couldn’t keep it up in the second period and the early goal at the start of the half cost us before they scored a very good late winner.

"Credit to the players on both sides; sometimes these inter-club derbies can be a bit feisty, but both players were on excellent behaviour and just wanted to play football. It was a very enjoyable game to play in."
