Holders Raiders start as underdogs to beat the Lions on Sunday, with a tie against Liverpool Haroldeans awaiting the winner.

Raiders fans (and players, dare I say) are waiting to see that all important Lions squad, knowing the likes of Austin Lipman, Adam Burchell and possible a handful of other players from the club's Spartan South Midlands League team might feature.

They went very strong in the semis the last time the club's met, as it's clear this is a competition they want to win. Max Kyte was their match-winner against the highly-fancied Manchester Maccabi 1st away last weekend. The 1-0 win and clean sheet tells you everything you need to know about just how good the Lions are right now.

Raiders have been dogged by inconsistency in the league this season. But they are a great cup team and have a strong pedigree in both the Morrison and Cyril Anekstein Cup. And with players such as Ben Joseph and Matt Stock nice and fresh, they won't worry about who is the favourite to progress. They will simply focus on the task at hand.

Having come through a tough quarter-final tie against second division title hopefuls Fairlop FC on penalties, some Raiders fans believe their name is on the cup again. It would certainly add some gloss to a season where highlights are few and far between.

I expect the Lions to have a combination of their talented youth players, together with a selection of older heads who have been there, done it and got the T-shirt. For me, it will take something special for Raiders to progress in a contest decided by small details.

OAKWOOD A vs REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A

Oakwood didn’t enjoy watching Hendon’s title celebrations unfold. They made the perfect start, only to come undone by a rare error from goalkeeper Joe Botchin, who will be determined to put the record straight in their final match before the Cyril Anekstein Cup final.

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall believes his players deserved a draw against Hendon, but they were eventually undone by some clinical finishing by a team with their tails up.

Ahead of the RJC game, Kristall told JC Sport: “We will field an Oakwood 11 including A and B-team players, making sure that players that need minutes get them.

“I am led to believe Redbridge will do the game, so it should make for an interesting match.

“We would like to end the league campaign positively and Sunday will give us an opportunity to use some player that have been pushing for more game time.

“We expect a tough test as our games with Redbridge always are.”

Reflecting on the Hendon result, Kristall added: “I feel last week’s performance deserved more and I felt we ran Hendon the distance. We have been able to use the game to help us prepare for next week’s final.”

JC team news: Oakwood defender Alex Lee “is in contention and needs minutes”, Rafi Stone, David Woolman and Jonathan Quinn will play. None of the recovering injured players “will be risked and three or four face a fight to be fit for the final”.

Redbridge remain on course for a top three finish. They were down to the bare bones for the recent Morrison tie up north and will be determined to remind their rivals of their quality.

Brad Wine and Steve Summers exchanged goals when the teams drew 1-1 at the back-end of January and another cagey affair looks on the cards.

Oakwood will be determined to go into the Cyril Anekstein Cup final with a win under their belt and I can see them doing just that.

LOS BLANCOS vs REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE C

Los Blancos still harbour aspirations of a top three finish. Victory at home to Redbridge C would mean they can claim third if they beat Oakwood B in the final match of the season.

Joel Holder’s troops have been inconsistent at home, where scoring goals has been an issue. Teams put numbers behind the ball, worried about the threat of the talented Oli Sade, but if they can breach the Redbridge defence early doors I can see them getting some joy.

Redbridge forfeited the first scheduled meeting between the teams this season. For a talented and experienced squad, their management team will be bitterly disappointed that they sit second from bottom going into the final stages of the season.

If Blancos bring their A-game to the table their will do the business.

STRAW HAT PIRATES vs REAL HENDON

Real Hendon go in search of a league double when they as they look to boost their hopes of a top five finish.

Revenge will be the name of the game for Elliot Cukier’s men who finished well beaten by Martin Smulovitch’s troops in February, when Gav Noe, Lolu Hibbert and Alex Jordan eased Real to a 3-0 victory.

In all honesty, I expected more from Real this season. They have shown flashes of brilliance and it was refreshing to hear Rafi Addlestone say they are in it for the long haul. Automatic promotion has long been out of the equation, but if they can make a couple of key signings in the summer then there’s no reason why they can’t be there or thereabouts in 12 months’ time.

Ahead of the game, Addlestone told JC Sport: “We’re looking forward to our first game for a while. We have a strong squad ready to roll and knock the eyepatches off those Pirates!”

The Pirates haven’t won a game in 2018. That must have been some New Year’s eve party! The firepower of Aron Gale has kept them competitive, but they have dried up over the past two games as they have failed to register.

I’d be lying if I said SHP’s home form has been anything but patchy, but Real have struggled on the road – something they will be determined to put right on Sunday.

CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI vs FAITHFOLD B

Avoiding injuries will be key to Faithfold’s plans ahead of Sunday’s trip to Wembley.

Yoss Brownson was their goal-scoring hero in last week’s thrilling semi-final win over Raiders C – a result that should instill David Garson’s men with bags of confidence.

Faithfold being Faithfold, they were cruising at 4-1, only to concede two late goals to give their supporters squeaky bums. But they managed to hold on and secure a final showdown against Temple Fortune.

Josh Martin also chipped in with a goal and Garson will be keen to tighten things up at the back against Catford, in preparation for the final on April 29.

Catford have nothing to play for and are struggling for numbers. But Jeff Gotch is no quitter and is determined to put out an XI.

Jamie Sinai, Jason Shoffman and Alex Jacobs fired Catford to victory in the first meeting between the teams in September. And even though Catford claimed a point against Vale last weekend, I can see Faithfold coming out on top.
