JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- MOTTY KORMAN (Real Hendon) - "I'm not sure why it has taken us 15 games this season to finally put in a very good performance"
- JON JACOBS (Redbridge A) - “The result probably suits Oakwood more with Redbridge needing four wins from four tough games to win the league, and Oakwood playing a Lions team with eyes on cup glory in their only remaining fixture"
- RIC BLANK (Oakwood A) - "The Redbridge players were celebrating at full-time - which tells you everything you need to know about a) the title race and b) how far Oakwood have come as a team. For a team as good as Redbridge to be punching the air at full time after a draw with us is a huge, huge compliment. This was undoubtedly the two best Jewish teams in the country going at it and we thoroughly enjoyed it"
- AVI MARKIEWICZ (RC UK FC) - QUOTE 1 - "I can say that in not a single game have we been outclassed this season but on Sunday we were. We have to hold our hands up and admit we were beaten by the better team. To point out any individual on their team would be a disservice to them as they won because they played so well together"
- AVI MARKIEWICZ (RC UK FC) - QUOTE 2 - "With Pesach coming up I am very worried that fielding a team never mind a strong team may be come a serious problem"
- SAM MARCHANT (Lions B) - "This cup run was purely a bonus for us, and from the get-go our focus has been on the league. Promotion to the Premier is now within touching distance and we believe we can achieve it. Our heads are held high, it was a strong, passionate and spirited performance. It’s now in the past and we look forward to finishing the season on a high and achieving something great"
- NICK GROSSE (Los Blancos) - "It was an emotional day on Sunday, I told the lads that it would be my last game in charge, possibly even as a player. I have been at Blancos since 2013 which is not nearly as long as Adam Hersh, Joel Kutner, Benjy Israel and Jeff Gross who were all founding members playing their final game for the club. It has been an honour and a pleasure to manage and play for the team. Throughout its short history there has been a philosophy of comradely and friendship which has meant that my teammates have been top quality guys with strong values and good spirits. The youngsters we leave behind to continue the Blancos legend have the ability to take the club all the way to the top, that was my parting message to them and I hope they believe it as much as I do"

PETER MORRISON TROPHY SEMI-FINAL DRAW
Maccabi London Lions under-21 vs MJSL Rep Team or South Manchester
Maccabi London Lions Masters vs North London Raiders A

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:
PETER MORRISON TROPHY QUARTER-FINALS
MACCABI LONDON LIONS MASTERS 8 RC UK FC 0
SAM SLOMA was the hat-trick hero as Lions Masters continued their merciless march towards Jewish FA Cup glory after crushing minnows RC UK FC in Hertfordshire.
Further strikes from Adam Stolerman (2), Craig Pearl, Lee Cash and Gideon Gold set up a home semi-final against defending MGBSFL champions Raiders A.
Jacobs told JC Sport: "It was a good work-out against a young and enthusiastic side who never gave up. Unfortunately for them they just couldn't do quite enough with the ball on the occasions they got it.
"We were pleased with our movement and some of our finishing was excellent. Their goalkeeper and the woodwork - three times - kept the scoreline down.
"It was valuable game-time for all and we wish RC UK FC all the best in their promotion push."
RC UK player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "We had a great run in the cup but it came to end this week. The first half was unfortunately littered with mistakes and Lions were already out of sight at that point.
"We gave a much better account of ourselves in the second half, by pressing much higher, but unfortunately we didn't make the most of it and Lions took their chances. I can say that in not a single game have we been outclassed this season but on Sunday we were. We have to hold our hands up and admit we were beaten by the better team. To point out any individual on their team would be a disservice to them as they won because they played so well together.
"None of this takes away from the fact I am extremely proud of my team. We are a brand new club and many of us have not played together before, we have unfortunately had to chop and change week in week out but to get to where we did was magnificent.
"We have a lot of games left to play this season and we will try all we can to achieve promotion but with Pesach coming up I am very worried that fielding a team never mind a strong team may be come a serious problem."
DC Prediction: Lions 4 RC UK 0

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP SEMI-FINAL
MACCABI LONDON LIONS B 1 MACCABI LONDON LIONS A 1 (AET - Lions A won on penalties)
Lions A held their nerve to reach the final of the League Cup after beating first division leaders Lions B on penalties, in front of the JC cameras.

Josh Bloom scored for the B's, while A-team keeper Reuben Rabstein crucially saved a penalty.
Lions B boss Sam Marchant told JC Sport: "This cup run was purely a bonus for us, and from the get-go our focus has been on the league. Promotion to the Premier is now within touching distance and we believe we can achieve it. Our heads are held high, it was a strong, passionate and spirited performance. It’s now in the past and we look forward to finishing the season on a high and achieving something great.”

Dean Nyman found the net for Redbridge.
Redbridge boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: “This was a game where I think the weather won in the end. The windy conditions didn’t allow us to play our normal game, but on reflection a fair result though we could have shaded it in the second half."
Oakwood joint-manager Ric Blank told JC Sport: "Overall a fair result but now the title is out of our hands. We're immensely proud of the boys and their efforts and now have to beat lions to give us any chance."
JC Prediction: Redbridge 1 Oakwood 1

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 3 CAMDEN PARK 0
A deadly double from Oscar Wagner (2) and Alex Bloch saw Raiders a first defeat on new Camden boss Stirling Kay.
NLR manager Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "It was a good solid performance and a well-deserved three points."
Camden boss Kay told JC Sport: "We were punished for three mistakes but the lads showed they want to move their game on by the way they adapted to a new format in which they played today the future is bright."
DC Prediction: Raiders 2 Camden 1

DIVISION ONE
OAKWOOD B 2 FINCHLEY CITY 2
Top-quality strikes from Daniel Seligman and Ben Annis earned Oakwood a draw against Finchley City who secured the points with what Jason Stein described as "an incredible equaliser".
Finchley's goals came via Jamie Gurvitz and a cracker from Sam Leader.
Oakwood boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: "Our performance in the first half wasn't good enough. We were no where at the races and really that's what has cost us the win today because second half we were superb."
DC Prediction: Oakwood 2 Finchley 1

FAITHFOLD A 5 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB B 1
Doubles from Adam Littas and Jamie Kent saw Faithfold register their fourth, and most emphatic victory, of the season as they crushed fellow strugglers Hendon B 5-1. Craig Cole added the gloss.
Marc Benamram fired a consolation for Hendon.
Faithfold boss Rob Shooman told JC Sport: "Hendon were stubborn opponents, not giving up in a game that we dominated for most of the time. Our next game will be much more of a test, physically and technically, but this was a good workout for the guys , having not played for a couple of weeks it was good to get everyone firing."
DC Prediction: Faithfold 2 Hendon 2
----------------------
----------------------
LOS BLANCOS 2 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 1
Nick Grosse ended his reign as manager of Los Blancos in style, beating Raiders B 2-1 with goals from Louie Libbert and Avi Kestenbau.
An emotional Grosse told JC Sport: "It was a cracking end of season effort from the lads, finally we got what we deserved after a harsh season. COYLB!"
NLR boss Jonathan Adelman told JC Sport: "We hit the bar and post five times and Nick Grosse made a handful of excellent stops. Ultimately Blancos were more clinical."
DC Prediction: Blancos 2 Raiders 3

SCRABBLE FC 1 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 2
Strikes from Brad Gayer and Kane Hopps saw Redbridge B boosted their hopes of winning the Division One crown by beating Scrabble.
RJC's 11th win in 13 matches takes them to within four points of leaders Lions B, with three games in hand. Elliot Espinoza netted for Scrabble.
RJC joint-manager Sam Rank told JC Sport: "This game was the first of three cup finals for RJC B objective to win the title. Two more victories in the next two coming weeks will bring the title to Essex."
Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "On the face of it today a draw would probably have been a fair result but to be honest we are disappointed not to have won this game and taken all three points."
DC Prediction: Scrabble 2 Redbridge 2
----------------------
----------------------
DIVISION TWO
BOCA JEWNIORS 3 L’EQUIPE 4
Newly-crowned champions L'Equipe were pushed all the way by a plucky Boca team, but in the end goals from Rob Simons (2), James Mandell and Mark Singer.
Boca's goals came via Oliver Kyte, Jamie Leboff and Sam Simon.
Relieved L'Equipe boss Nick Stern told JC Sport: "It was a real battle today, not our best performance at all, but champions don't lose!"
DC Prediction: Boca 1 L'Equipe 5

TEMPLE FORTUNE 2 MILL HILL DONS 0
Temple Fortune made two late breakthroughs to boost their hopes of finishing runners-up, with Jake Marks and top-scorer Jordan Sharifian grabbing the glory.
Marks broke the deadlock a minute from time, with Sharifian clinching the points four minutes into added time, much to the relief of manager Simon Linden.
He told JC Sport: "I knew Mill Hill would cause us problems this morning and they probably edged the contest. I'm proud of my team, like last week it wasn't the prettiest of performance but we dug in, put in a shift and got the job done. We would have lost a game like this earlier on in the season."
Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "We will pick ourselves up for next week's game as we look to target a top four finish. Good luck to Temple Fortune for the rest of the season - a well managed team with some nice guys in charge."
DC Prediction: Fortune 4 Dons 2

REAL HENDON 7 FAITHFOLD B 1
RA NOE inspired Real Hendon to their biggest win of the season as they came from a goal down to crush Faithfold 7-1.
Richard Fogelman had given Faithfold an early lead, but braces from Benny Goldberg 2 and Benni Sluckis helped Real turned the game on its head.
Real's Motty Korman told JC Sport: "I'm not sure why it has taken us 15 games this season to finally put in a very good performance.
DC Prediction: Real 4 Faithfold 4
