JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: CONTENDERS
- LOUIS NAUGHTEN (Faithfold) - sublime Cantona-esque chip into the top left-hand corner from the right side of the box was something to behold. Technique at its finest, with an assist from David Leiwy
- SAM MODLIN (Oakwood B) - a scintillating counter-attack saw Oakwood move the ball from their penalty area into the opposition net in just a few seconds. Dan Ash sprinted 60 yards, laid the ball off to Dan Selwyn who passed it first time to Louie Libbert who crossed for Modlin to tap in. Glorious football!
- SAMMY HUBERMAN (North London Galaxy) - a brilliant 20-yard equaliser driven into the top left-hand corner
- LOLU HIBBERT (Faithfold B) - an unbelievable strikes form just outside the area. Hibbert found himself with a bit of room and arrowed his shot into the net without thinking twice
- MARK SINGER (Temple Fortune) - stunning, curling shot from 30 yards, which the keeper couldn't get near
- HARRISON GRANT (Fairlop FC) - a fine team move was beautifully headed home by Grant at the far post after a pinpoint cross from Bradley Gayer’s ‘wand’ "as he likes to call it of a left foot. I beg to differ, but it was a rare moment of quality from the captain!"

- JORDAN SAPLER (Hendon Utd) - "We deserved the points but LB boss Stirling Kay deserves much credit for putting together a strong and battling team which are hard to break down and will take points off other teams this season"

A brilliant brace from Louis Naughten plus one from Ben Shirbini earned Faithfold their first win of the season as they put Brady to the sword 3-1 at Rowley Lane.
Jubilant Faithfold player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "We worked hard all over the field - I didn't have a shot to save all game, apart from their goal from a set-piece. This week we got the win our performance deserved. We still have to be more clinical in front of goal as we could have had 10. Hopefully we can kick on next week as the Division One champions take on the Premier champions."
Jordan Nathan grabbed a consolation for Brady and boss Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "It's not been a great start to the season - but Faithfold deserved the win as they played as a unit and didn't allow us to play, especially in the first half. We played a much better tempo in the second 45 and although I felt we were denied a penalty, it wasn't to be. We will go again next week against HMH, which is going to be a big test."

LOS CAMDEN A 1 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 2
Hendon bounced back from last week's thrashing at the hands of HMH, but they were pushed all the way by Los Camden as Zac Lewis and an own goal edged them to victory.
Reflecting on his first win, Hendon boss Jordan Sapler described the pitch as something of a leveller. "We are still trying to get out of second gear but it was hard to play great football on a bumpy, hole-filled park pitch. It's a shame the match was moved from a nice 4G pitch during the week. We deserved the points but Lc boss Stirling Kay deserves much credit for putting together a strong and battling team which are hard to break down and will take points off other teams this season."

MACCABI LONDON LIONS 1 OAKWOOD A 3
Oakwood sent out a title warning as they condemned the Lions to their first defeat of the season with an impressive 3-1 win at Rowley Lane.
Brad Wine, Josh Cuby and Kyle Bentwood did the business for the Oaks.
Benji Weinberger fired a consolation for the Lions.
Oaks joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "This was a great win in a tough away match to start the season. Lots of players were back in the side which is a huge positive and there's more to return. We know that we must improve our level but the main thing about Sunday was picking up the points. Over the course of a season, Lions field teams from a huge pool of players so they will cause team problems. We saw that when they drew level but we kept our heads, and battled well. I am confident that our level of performance will improve as the season progresses.
We now focus on a tough test against Los Camden where we will be hoping to win and get on a real winning run over the next few weeks. As the saying goes, "you can't win MSFL's in September but you can certainly lose them". We just have to stick to our task and keep winning games."

Oakwood B started the season in style with a crushing 4-0 triumph over Scrabble A, with goals from Louie Hibbert, Sam Modlin, Ben Feingold and Sam King.
Oaks boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: "We couldn't have had a better start and now the challenge is to keep that going."
Having given debuts to seven players, Scrabble manager Ray Abrahams conceded: "Oakwood looked the fitter team but the scoreline flattered them in the end."

LOS CAMDEN B 1 FAIRLOP FC 5
Two goals from Max Freedman saw Fairlop FC secured their first win in Division One after producing a five-star display against Los Camden B.
Daryl Rubin, James Jaconelli and Harrison Grant completed the route for the Essex men.
Fairlop's Jake Sanders told JC Sport: "It was nice to get our first victory of the campaign, but very disappointing to concede late on. It was great to see one of our new signings Harrison Grant to get off the mark so early and also pleasing to see both centre-backs get on the scoresheet. We killed the game off in the first 45, but were poor in the second-half and Los Camden deserved their consolation.”

NORTH LONDON GALAXY 2 JEWDINESE 2
Jewdinese drew for the second week in succession, as MGBSFL chairman David Wolff was treated to a four-goal thriller against new boys North London Galaxy.
A game that both teams were very eagerly awaiting saw 'Nese take a while to settle, with Galaxy having the larger share of possession although not creating any real chances. Jewdinese’s best chance came from James Van Straten’s deflected effort. The game then sprung to life when some great pressing from Ben Berrick unsettled a Galaxy centre back, which forced an error and Zac Brin was able to slot home. The Zebras grew into the game after that and went into halftime in the lead.
Nese made a much quicker start to the second half, with some very nice link up play coming down the right from Barney Rhodes and Ben Berrick. However, Galaxy pulled themselves level after a corner was headed in although there were questions asked to the referee about a foul on goalkeeper Ben Halmer. Halmer was unable to continue after a nasty fall on his back. James Van Straten stepped up and donned the gloves.
Then, with Berrick involved again, he was able to slip a lovely ball in to Zack Collins, who got past his man, opened his body up and curled into the far corner, in Henry-esque fashion. Jewdinese were unable to find the killer goal and were pegged back again. A cross from the Galaxy right was cleared by a Nese defender and fell to a Galaxy player who struck home first time.

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 3 BAYERN MINCHA 2
Alex Paraskeva (2) and Josh Wynne were on the mark as Redbridge A made it two out of two after winning a five-goal thriller against Bayern Mincha and finish the weekend two points clear at the top.
Adam Ellis bagged a brace for Bayern, taking his tally to five in two, but it was Redbridge's day.
RJC boss Sam Rank told JC Sport: "To win a league, there will be some games you don’t play well and still win and today was one of them. With 12 players out today, our squad was tested, but we dug in and got the win. It also says a lot when the opposition feel it was there best ever team performance since the club was established and still didn’t win. Next week we face a Jewdiense team, who are also unbeaten in the league, and with a couple of old RJC faces, we know we will have to raise our game, and with the returning players, I am confident of a win."

BENNY GOLDBERG was the hat-trick hero as Faithfold B finished the inter-club derby in seventh heaven after destroying the C team.
Alex Goodman (2), Aron Luftig and Lolu Hibbert added the gloss for the Bs.
Faithfold B's Motty Korman told JC Sport: "It was a ery good performance across the pitch. We started slowly but once we kicked into gear played some really good football and scored some excellent team goals. Pleased to get three points after dropping two last week."

MILL HILL DONS 1 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 2
Richard Slater and Seth Walmer were the scorers as Redbridge produced one of the results of the weekend, claiming an impressive 2-1 win away at Mill Hill Dons.
Zach Cohen made it four goals in two games with a consolation for the Dons.
RJC boss Richard Bronzite told JC Sport: "I'm delighted with the win. We did not play as well as we could but the three points is all that counts. The Dons were impressive and kept on coming at us which made the last five minutes very nervy, but we kept going till the final whistle. The defence were immense so special shout out to them! Special mention to sam McCarthy who went off with a broken nose and will now need an operation. Wishing him a speedy recovery."
Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "It was a disappointing performance - we were unable to break down a resolute strong Redbridge defence, despite having the majority of the possession, especially in the second half. We were our own worse enemies and gifted them unnecessary opportunities in front of goal and they took advantage."

SCRABBLE FC B 0 HERTSWOOD VALE 3
A pair of penalties from James Millet plus a strike from Ben Mandell inspired Hertswood Vale to their second consecutive win as they overpowered Scrabble B 3-0.
Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "This was a comfortable win in frustrating circumstances but two wins from two. There’s much much more to come from the Vale than we’ve shown in our opening two games."
Scrabble player-manager Jon Yantin told JC Sport: "Hertswood were always favourites to win with Scrabble players at least double their age man for man. However, two dubious penalty decisions in favour of Hertswood made the job a little easier than they anticipated."

SPEC FC 5 FC TEAM 3
ZAC NEIMAN fired a treble to inspire SPEC FC to their first win at the expense of FC Team.
Sam Martin and Josh Green sealed the points for SPEC, with Josh Morris (2) and Richard Salmon on target for the visitors.
SPEC FC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "This was another exciting game to be involved in and one the neutral definitely would have enjoyed. To be a goal down three times and still win shows the character we've got in the squad but we need to start defending better. Zac Neiman is obviously the hero today with a hat-trick, but Adam Joselyn, Ryan Fox and Ashley Burns had brilliant second halves and we probably did enough to deserve the victory. Josh Green stayed ice cool when one-on-one with less than 10 to go to put us in the lead for the first time and though we gave them chances to equalise, we just about hung in before Zac's hat trick goal sealed our first win of the season."

TEMPLE FORTUNE 1 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS MASTERS 1
Temple Fortune opened the season at home at Silver Jubilee Park with an encouraging first point against reigning MMFL champions North London Raiders Masters.
Mark Singer scored for Fortune with a great curling shot from 30 yards out after 35 minutes. Simon Linden's team worked hard to secure the first win of the season but were denied by a late penalty from Jonny Blain.
Fortune boss Simon Linden commented: "It was a frustrating morning against Raiders. We worked hard and were close to seeing out the game but to have won wouldn’t really have shown a honest reflection of the game. This was because in the second half, we struggled to get on top and didn’t have enough control of the game. I have a completely new- look team and it will take a bit of time to click the way we want. But with players returning next week hopefully we can get a win to kick-start the season."
