JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- RICHARD HAYIM (Mill Hill Dons) - a Boca clearance hit Hayim straight on the head and rebounded in a sensational looping effort over the keeper and into the net from 25 yards out. The most bizarre goal you'll see all season!

- ADAM ISAACS (Mill Hill Dons) - sent through on goal and clipped a delightful chipped finish over the keeper and into the far corner. Lovely strike from a classy player

- ADAM HERSH (Los Blancos) - we won't see better than this - Hersh precisely controlling a waist-high ball with his instep and hit the ball on the turn and volley straight into the top corner from 30 yards out. It was a ridiculous hit!

---------------------

---------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- NATI KIND (RC UK FC) - a shot from the right, about 10 yards out, that flashed low across the goal, manager Markiewicz already had his head in his hands when Kind got down so fast and flew at full-stretch to tip the ball around the post

- DANIEL KOSKY (Faithfold A) - a far post cross was latched on to by Mitch Green who directed his side-footed volley into the ground from two yards out heading for the top-corner  - somehow Kosky tipped it over the bar - top class reflexes in action. Blancos boss Nick Grosse "still can't believe it didn't hit the back of the net

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - "I'm absolutely over the moon that we don't head into 2017 at the bottom of the MGBSFL. We certainly don't belong there and we have strong intentions to get as many points between now and the end of the season"

- VYV EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - "It's so nice to say that we actually won a game; even my wife was excited for us and she hates football!"

- AVI MARKIEWICZ (RC UK FC) - "We can now go into the break on a really positive note, with some fantastic results recently, but more importantly we have won in all circumstances. Games like Raiders, where we were in toal control from start to finish, Real Hendon, where we were missing a lot of players, Oakwood, where it was backs-to-the-wall, and Fortune, who were super-physical. Everyone at the club is really buzzard and we can't wait to kick on again in January."

MACCABI LONDON LIONS A 1 OAKWOOD A 5

Leor Sidle scored his first goals in Oakwood colours as they finished the weekend in second place after securing their seventh win of the season with an impressive 5-1 success over Lions.

Further strikes from Sam Cantor, Guy Helman and Jonny Quinn clinched the points for Oakwood.

Adam Burchell grabbed a consolation for the Lions but it was Oakwood who went away celebrating a second consecutive victory at Rowley Lane.

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "Make no mistake, this was a strong Lions side. This was a Lions team led by Max Kyte and littered with quality. A totally different Lions side than the one that face Hendon earlier in the season. My only hope is that they can field as strong a side as that every week. Otherwise it is pointless."

DC Prediction: Lions 1 Oakwood 1

WOODFORD WANDERERS 0 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A 4

YEHUDA KORMAN was the hat-trick hero as Hendon United returned to winning ways as they maintained their five point gap at the top with a comfortable win over Woodford.

Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: We took a little while to get going today probably still getting last week out of the system, and when Avi Korman had his penalty well saved in the 25th minute it felt like it could be one of those days.

“Thankfully his brother Yehuda Korman then took over, scoring an absolute cracker, and from then onwards we were always in control and we really enjoyed ourselves in the second half and played some great stuff."

Woodford boss Daryl Kay told JC Sport” “We lost 0-4 today but I'm not sure we deserved to lose by 4. It was 1-0 at HT and only through an absolute belter of a goal that no goalie could've saved. "

DC Prediction: Woodford 0 Hendon 3

FINCHLEY CITY 5 SCRABBLE FC 2

Finchley City boosted their title aspirations with an impressive 5-2 win over promotion rivals Scrabble FC in Wembley.

Josh Bentley and Elliot Espinoza registered for Scrabble but it was a ruthless Finchley team who finished the year in style with three points.

Jubilant Finchley boss Joel Holder told JC Sport: “The boys were absolutely sensational today and fully deserved the victory. Everyone stuck to the game-plan which was to nullify Scrabble in midfield and hit them on the break. “I have believed in our team since pre-season and with six wins on the bounce and joint top at the league going into the New Year, I honestly believe that this is just the start and we will only get better and better as the season develops.”

Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "After last Sunday's performance against Lions, we are very disappointed with the way things have happened for us today and didn't deserve anything out of the game. “We are still very much in the promotion race and the league is so close this season that everyone is taking points off everyone else so things will change week to week."

DC Prediction: Finchley 2 Scrabble 2

---------------------

---------------------

LOS BLANCOS 3 FAITHFOLD A 0

Simon Moses, Tim Heynes and Adam Hersh moved Los Blancos to within a point of Faithfold following back-to-back wins.

Blancos boss Nick Grosse told JC Sport: “We were on top form and Faithfold looked a little disjointed. Faithfold had a couple of decent chances throughout the match, but the scoreline was a fair reflection, and barring a couple of exceptional saves, the gap could have been 5 or 6."

DC Prediction: Blancos 1 Faithfold 1

OAKWOOD B 1 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 2

Sam Sollosi gave Redbridge B a helping hand as they finished the weekend top of Division One following a hard-fought win over Oakwood B.

Brad Gayer scored the other as RJC registered their seventh consecutive win of the season.

RJC boss Sam Rank told JC Sport: “Overall today, the boys worked very hard, and deserved their victory to keep their momentum going, and 100 per cent record. Special thank you for Jon Jacobs letting me have some of the A team boys with 13 B team players out today. This just shows the strength we have at the club.”

Oakwood boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: “I thought it was a very close game and a player like Sam Solossi playing for Redbridge B really was the difference today. He's absolutely unplayable and did well for the winner. Perhaps I should be flattered that him and Ryan Cole were called upon for the game."

DC Prediction: Oakwood 2 Redbridge 2

CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 0 L’EQUIPE 4

L’Equipe continued their merciless march towards the championship by completing a league double over the Cats, with efforts from James Mandell, Max Martin, Andy Smith and Grant Bates.

HERTSWOOD VALE 3 FC TEAM B 2

Hertswood Vale were celebrating their first league success thanks to strikes from Danny Feuer, Josh Cohen and Bailey Snow.

Having almost bitten his fingernails to the bone after seeing his team march 3-0 up, Hertswood joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "We tried everything in our power to throw away another lead."

Mitch Young and Mickey Marks replied for FC Team. Player-manager David Gordon told JC Sport: “Unfortunately we conceded some sloppy goals today and we paid for it. I was proud of the boys because they didn’t let their heads go down and fought their way back into the game and created plenty of chances to at least haven taken a point. Sadly it wasn’t to be but it was heartening to see a “never-say-die” attitude from everyone.

DC Prediction: Hertswood 2 FC Team 2

---------------------

---------------------

MILL HILL DONS 2 BOCA JEWNIORS 0

Mill Hill Dons continued their march up the table, with strikes from Richard Hayim and Adam Isaacs lifting them into the top four.

Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "A good result but we were far from our best. For some reason we just didn't really get going today and the build up play was very laboured. We perhaps got a bit too cocky after our great win last time out, but the result is all that matters and a very solid defensive performance gives us reason to feel optimistic heading into 2017.

"We're climbing up the league after a poor start and to break into the top four is a great way to end the year. We now have 10 league games in 2017 and we're firmly in the promotion race which is an exciting prospect. It's all to play for and we'll be working hard on the training ground to make sure we achieve it."

Boca’s Anton Nyman told JC Sport: “A case of nearly but yet so far. All that was in the game until the 89th minute was one of the worlds luckiest goals against us - a clearance striking the backs of one of their players outside the box and looping all the way back over the keeper behind!"

JC Prediction: Dons 4 Boca 0

--------------------

---------------------

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 2 REAL HENDON 5

Real Hendon ended the year in style, with a 5-2 crushing of Raiders C moving them up to seventh.

Two early "worldies" - one from LOLLU HIBBERT, the other from Gav Noe (2), settled the visitors down and whilst NLR pulled a couple of goals back either side of Hendon's third, the visitors survived and pulled away in the final 20 minutes, with Hibbert completing his hat-trick.

Real's Yossi Goldberg told JC Sport: "The win is dedicated to our absent gaffer Chaim Gothold and his wife Sophie on the birth of their new daughter, although the players don't believe the circumstances are acceptable for missing the game."

NLR joint-manager Sam Rose told JC Sport: “ zRaiders continue to find themselves in a difficult moment after two heavy defeats on the bounce but I’m confident in our ability to come out of this rut. We’ll use the Christmas break now to our advantage and work the problem. Our boys need to continue to hold their heads up high.”

DC Prediction: Raiders 2 Real 3

---------------------

---------------------

RC UK FC 1 TEMPLE FORTUNE 0

A 75th minute strike from player-manager Avi Markiewicz moved RC UK FC to within a point of second-placed Temple Fortune following a hard-earned win.

RC UK boss Markiewicz told JC Sport: "We can now go into the break on a really positive note, with some fantastic results recently, but more importantly we have won in all circumstances. Games like Raiders, where we were in toal control from start to finish, Real Hendon, where we were missing a lot of players, Oakwood, where it was backs-to-the-wall, and Fortune, who were super-physical. Everyone at the club is really buzzard and we can't wait to kick on again in January."

Fortune boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "Defeat was hard to take, it was difficult to separate the two teams. Credit to my team, on another day we may have nicked this one but it wasn't to be. "It ends a run of eight games unbeaten and I now challenge my team to go on another run, turning more draws in to wins. I praise both sides for a good game of football it's just a shame it wasn't our day.

DC Prediction: RC UK 3 Fortune 2
