JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS
- JOSH BLOOM (ML Lions Blue) - Adam Abadi took down a 25-yard pass with perfect control on the edge of the box, beat a man and then performed a Maradona-esque roulette past another player which turned into a through ball to Bloom who coolly slotted home with his left foot
- AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold A) - a trademark mazy run by David Leiwy saw him beat five Scrabble players, cut the ball back from the byeline to Markiewicz for the simplest of finishes
- ADAM RONES (FC Team) - a five-player one-touch passing goal finished off by Rones at the back post
- SIMON MOSES (Los Blancos) - did what he does best with a fantastic lob over the keeper to win at Redbridge in the last minute
- ALEX ELF (NL Raiders C) - GOAL 2 - was a piece of sublime quality - smacking the ball into the left-hand corner just inside the Hendon half
- JOSH CUBY (Oakwood A) - As Dan Shafron says, 'you won’t see a better goal in Sunday league football all season'. Big point in the match at 2-1, curled in a shot from left hand angle of the penalty area into the top corner. An unbelievable strike
- ARON GALE (Straw Hat Pirates) - from kick-off, Josh Webber made a brilliant run, passed the ball wide to Aron who cut in and slotted the ball into the bottom right-hand corner, 10 seconds into the game. Teamwork and talent at its finest

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS
- SAM ROTH (NL Raiders C) - must have been inspired by De Gea last night - impossible to pick one particular save but he was everywhere making point-blank and reflex blocks aplenty

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS
- AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold A) - QUOTE 1 - "there were times in that game where we had every reason to drop our heads but we didn't, we believed. We kept on fighting, we played some really bright football, passed the ball about crisply and got the result we ultimately deserved"
- AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold A) - QUOTE 2 - " I'm not sure my words can do justice to what David Leiwy did in this game. Luckily there is a video so you can all see his highlights for yourselves which are probably better than the Arsenal vs United game yesterday! Resembles a certain diminutive Argentinian player. My greatest accomplishment of the season was convincing him to play 11-a-side!
- GREG CORIN (Hendon Utd) - "A note on Lions, a strong opponent who have done well to keep their good older players and draft in some impressive young talent. I’m sure they will test a number of teams this season if they can keep their players do and available"
- JOEL HOLDER (Los Blancos) - "The questions before the game were 'can we do it on a rainy day in Essex,' and boy did we respond!"

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:
CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND THREE
BRADY MACCABI 5 BAYERN MINCHA 1
Two apiece from Reiss Mogilner and Charlie Kasler guided Brady into round four in a game where Premier Division class told after a five-star performance against Division Two high-flyers Bayern Mincha.
Graeme Grossman was also on target for an in-form Brady and joint-manager Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "We beat a good, young team, however, in all honesty we didn’t really have to get out of second gear but we are now in the semi-final and that is all that matters."
Brady co-boss Eli Dagul told JC Sport: "‘We did what we needed to do. It wasn’t our best performance but we are into the last four and that was the objective before the game. At times we showed Bayern our Premiership class and those moments decided the game. We wish them luck for the rest of the season. Also a special mention to the ref who was superb today."
DC Prediction: Brady 2 Bayern 1

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 1 OAKWOOD A 3
Oakwood moved ominously into the next round as they returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-1 win over Raiders, thanks to an own goal David Woolman and a stunning goal of the week contender from star man Josh Cuby.
Oakwood stormed into an early two-goal lead before NLR were given a lifeline via Josh Goldstein’s brilliant header on the stroke of half-time.
Oaks joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "We worked hard, battled as a team, used the squad and got the job done. We really needed a win like that."
NLR boss Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "Despite the loss, our performances are getting far better and there are plenty of signs that if we continue to play how we’ve played the last two weeks against Hendon and Oakwood, we can easily turn our season around."
DC Prediction: Raiders 1 Oakwood 2

MGBSFL PREMIER DIVISION
HENDON UNITED SPORTS 3 MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE 3
Yoav Kestenbaum, Zac Lewis and Avi Korman were the marksmen for the hosts but Hendon United fans were grumbling at the end after their title hopes were dented, dropping two points against a resurgent Lions White team.
Kestenbaum and Lewis had put Hendon 2-0 up but Lions pulled one back. A header from Korman made it 3-1 but the Lions battled back, with Josh Shack (2) and Josh Weiner their scorers.
Hendon player-manager Greg Corin told JC Sport; "It was a great advert for Sunday league this morning - attacking football and a number of decent players on show. Being 3-1 ahead and drawing the game was hugely disappointing but we need to take stock of the result and the team we had to put together at the last minute."
DC Prediction: Hendon 2 Lions 1
--------------------
--------------------
MACCABI LONDON LIONS BLUE 4 CAMDEN PARK 0
Lions Blue registered their fourth of the season as they crushed Camden 4-0 at Rowley Lane, with goals from Josh Bloom (2), Charlie Cohen and the returning Liron Mannie.
Jubilant Lions boss Sam Marchant told JC Sport: "We had a few weeks off and I knew it would be interesting to see how the boys reacted. We started well and controlled the majority of the match. We showed patience and maturity all over the park and didn’t allow the opposition many chances at all."
DC Prediction: Lions 2 Camden 1

DIVISION ONE
A DAVID LEIWY (3) masterclass inspired Faithfold to a thrilling comeback against title rivals Scrabble at the Hive.
Trailing 2-1 at the break via a Rupert Wood double, Faithfold bossed the second half, with Leiwy key to the comeback. Avi Markiewicz (2) and super-sub David Kizneris completed the scoring against a Scrabble team who finished with 10 men after referee Martin De La Fuente flashed his red card in the final stages, with Zac McLeod scoring their third.
Faithfold boss Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "I am so proud of my lads - this was a really tough game, we were missing a couple of our stars in Ben and Louis and there were times in that game where we had every reason to drop our heads but we didn't, we believed. We kept on fighting, we played some really bright football, passed the ball about crisply and got the result we ultimately deserved."
Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "The scoreline was not a true reflection of the game and I thought for 70 minutes we played well. Faithfold had one player who created and finished everything and you can see why with him in the side they are where they are."

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 2 LOS BLANCOS 3
Los Blancos returned to winning ways after edging a five-goal thriller against Redbridge, thanks to a brace from Simon Moses and one from strike part Oli Sade.
Paul Biller and Carl Dobrin struck for Redbridge.
Blancos boss Joel Holder told JC Sport: "What a win - we showed fantastic strength and character to battle back from 2-1 down to a 3-2 win. With the last touch of the game Simon Moses did what he does best with a fantastic lob over the keeper. Queue manic scenes with a Blancos bundle. The questions before the game were can we do it on a rainy day in Essex and boy did we respond!"
DC Prediction: Redbridge 1 Blancos 1

MITCH HAHN turned on the style to the tune of four goals as Redbridge C sealed back-to-back wins with a 9-1 demolition of Temple Fortune.

DIVISION TWO
CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 3 FC TEAM 4
A deadly double from Mitch Young boosted FC Team's promotion hopes with victory in a seven-goal thriller against fellow high-flyers Catford.
Richard Salmon and Adam Rones were also on target as Team - who at one point led 4-0 - climbed into the top three.
Catford's goals came via Mitch Green (2) and Jason Shoffman.
Delighted FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "Overall we deserved the victory and I was happy with how we played and probably should have scored more goals. It sets us up nicely for a must-win game next week against Mill Hill."
Catford player-manager Jeff Gotch told JC Sport: " I’m disappointed that I had 8 dropouts from Thursday to match day and only having 11 players didn’t help – FC Team have a long-throw and a hoof ball over the top, bar that there useless."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 6 REAL HENDON 3
ALEX ELF fired a hat-trick as Raiders C moved into the top five after they ran in six goals against Real Hendon. Ben Kaye (2) and Liam Stein added the gloss in NLR's fourth win of the season.
NLR boss Sam Rose told JC Sport: "From a technical standpoint, that was the best Raiders performance I’ve seen in a year and a half."
Adam Hersh, Benny Goldberg and Jordan Alex scored for Real for whom Raffi Addlestone told JC Sport: "It was a disappointing loss after starting extremely brightly. Some bad individual mistakes cost us."
DC Prediction: Raiders 2 Real 2

STRAW HAT PIRATES 3 FAITHFOLD B 3
Aron Gale, Ben Mandell and Jono Nesbitt were the marksmen as Straw Hat Pirates shared the points after a six-goal thriller with Faithfold B.
Josh Barnett and Tony Plaskow (2) scored for Faithfold and player-manager David Garson told JC Sport: "We came back three times in what was a very entertaining game. Hopefully we can kick on from here."
Pirates boss Elliot Cukier told JC Sport: "Today was incredibly frustrating. Frustrating because it should have been our game. We battled hard for 90 minutes and have very little to show for our efforts."
DC Prediction: Pirates 3 Faithfold 2

MILL HILL DONS P HERTSWOOD VALE P
Match postponed
Hertswood joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "The game didn’t go ahead today because the council didn’t turn up to put the goals up. There are many questions to be answered, but I’ll leave that up to the league to decide. Either way the lads have gone home feeling pretty mugged off that the game couldn’t go ahead. We go again next week."
