Greater Manchester Amateur Cricket League Division Three
Twenty20 Cup semi-final
South Manchester 149-0 off 14 overs
Haughton Green 138-8 off 14 overs
South won by 11 runs
Akiva Lieberman produced an astonishing display of hitting to fire South Manchester into the cup final.
With the t20 game reduced to 14 overs aside due to rain, he hit an unbeaten 107. Sixes rained down on all parts of the ground as South reached 149 for no wicket off their allotted overs.
Josh Oehley contributed with some power hitting and great running between the wickets and finished unbeaten on 35.
South did not have it all their own way however as they produced a below par bowling and fielding performance.
Dropped catches and wayward bowling helped Haughton Green keep up with the rate but wickets were falling at regular intervals.
Jonathan Lieberman rolled back the years with three wickets in one over. Man of the match Akiva also took a couple and
Dan Glicher took a crucial wicket in the penultimate over.
Harry Rosenblum took the final wicket off the last ball as Haughton Green fell just 11 runs short.
The win puts South into their second cup final of the season.
