Dudi Sela missed out on a place in the last 16 of the Australian Open after bowing out in four sets against Andrey Kuznetsov of Russia.
Having seen off Fernando Verdasco – conquerer of Rafael Nadal – in round two, the Israeli produced a spirited performance before going down 7-5, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6.
Sela said: "I had a good week, it’s a shame it ended. I’m happy to got the season off to a good start and I hope it continues this way."
