Season 2012/13 preview: London Maccabi Lions A

articlemain

The Lions have strengthened significantly over the summer. Danny Caro expects them to be the real deal, although joint-manager Josh Newman prefers to talk down their chances.

Competitions entered The London FA Sunday Cup and the National Sunday FA Cup, as well as all the other regular Jewish cup competitions – MSFL Premier Division, Peter Morrison Trophy and Cyril Anekstein Cup.

Hopes for the season: To play some good football and see where it takes us.

Main challengers: I would expect it to be a very competitive league this year with not much separating the majority of the teams. Hendon will, of course, be the ones to try and chase after their superb season last year.

New signings: We have made a number of additions to the squad in different areas, including Elliot Stern and Mike Pearson, but we are always looking to strengthen.

Captain: Yoav Lebens

Ones to watch: It would be wrong to single out individuals, as we know if we are to have a successful this year, we will need big contributions from all members of the squad.

Sponsors: iBet Finance

What will your team bring to the league this season? Hopefully some good football.
