Scrabble to return to the MGBSFL

articlemain

Former MGBSFL champions Scrabble are returning to the league after a lengthy absence.

The club won their first Premier Division title in season 1997/98 and retained the crown the following year.

Ray Abrahams has been appointed manager following a 10-year sabbatical, with Adrian Lewis returning as club chairman. Abrahams led Scrabble U11’s until they joined the Maccabi League before taking his team into the Barnet League.

A Scrabble spokesman said: “The ambition is to see Scrabble back where they belong in the Premier League as soon as possible.

"We're certainly looking to challenge for the title this season, and build on that in the coming years.

"We've got a glorious 3G home pitch at the Willesden Academy), an incredibly strong squad, and a manager who's been there and done it before. The future is bright for Scrabble."

Pre-season training begins on July 12. For details email Ray Abrahams at: libertyestates@btinternet.com
