Rosh Pinah made a splash at the Maccabi GB Simchat Ha’mayim Swimming Gala - winning three out of four categories, including Overall Winning School.
The Edgware school maintained their grip on the title at Barnet Copthall Swimming Pool in Mill Hill, registering their third success in as many years.
Eight Primary schools from across the community - Sinai, Rosh Pinah, MMK, Kerem, Independent, Wolfson Hillel, HJPS and North West - battled it out, with each school bringing squad consisting of both boys and girls aged between eight and eleven years old. In total, 150 young people took part in the event, who were well-supported by over 150 parents.
Rosh Pinah PE Co-Ordinators Mr Munro and Mr Goldin said: “We’re really proud of the effort and the behaviour of the pupils on the day.
"Each and every single one of them gave it their best. Some of our swimmers swim at clubs however a large proportion of the swimmers have been trained through the school.
“To win one trophy would have been an achievement, however to win all three was simply incredible and we are so proud of the team.
"We are so proud of our Sport provision at Rosh Pinah after recently being award the Bronze School Games award. We look forward to continued sporting success at our school.”
Maccabi GB Sports Coordinator Jordan Sapler, said: “This year’s Simchat Ha’mayim Swimming Gala was a fantastic success. Always popular within our Community’s Schools it really helps to introduce swimming competition to young, Jewish children and ingrain the fun element along with the competitive side.
To have eight schools and 150 swimmers take part is testament to the popularity of the sport at grassroots level and Maccabi GB will do all we can to ensure that these participants will always have an outlet each year to take part in events such as this.”
