Les Ormrod expressed pride after receiving the Manchester FA’s Member Equality Award for November in recognition of 25 years of service to South Manchester Sports Club.

Club secretary Ormrod, 64, helps oversee eight junior teams as well as the senior sides. He collected the accolade at the National Football Museum in Manchester city centre.

Ormrod said: "This award means a lot to me. I'm chuffed."

South Manchester chairman Jonny Davis said: "We think the award is fantastic and well-deserved. Les is an unbelievably hard worker and he is a one-off."
