Competing in his 15th professional fight, Milch, 36, described the judge's decision as "a surprise," insisting he felt as though he “had done enough” and won rounds one, two and six.
“I felt in control,” Milch told JC Sport after his 56-58 points defeat. “My corner thought I had won, and so did I. I produced a big last round and felt the decision was a little harsh.”
Milch has been working together with a new coaching team - Josh Burnham and Daryl Spalter - for three months ahead of the bout and he said he was satisfied with his performance.
“I shouldn’t have left it to the judges,” he remarked. “That was my only mistake. He was aggressive and came forwards but didn’t hurt me with any of his punches. All his best shots hit my arms.
“He was busy but I have fought much bigger punchers.
“I knew it would be a tough fight but on reflection I believe I came away on the wrong end of the decision.
“I had lots of energy left going into the last round and threw a flurry of punches."
