JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- LUKE LEWIS (NL Galaxy) - Jonny Daitz hounded a Scrabble defender into a mistake. Lewis capitalised, shifting it onto his right from 25 yards, taking the keeper and defence by surprise with an audacious finesse top corner to open the scoring

- JAMES JACONELLI (Fairlop FC) - GOAL 3 - put his team ahead was a delightful lob after an exquisite pass from Bradley Gayer

- OLI SADE (Los Camden A) – picked up the ball on the edge of his box after a defensive header from Camden defending a corner, Sade turned his man cleverly and down the left-hand side of the pitch beat four men with trickery, pace and skill. Sade entered the box on the left-hand side and slotted home into the bottom left-hand corner from a tight angle underneath the keeper. Sade channelled his inner Diego Maradonna vs England running the pitch from inside his own half and scored a goal that even the great man himself would have been proud off

- AVI GARSON (Faithfold Doc MM C) - stunning solo effort, with a run that started on the halfway line, saw him ghost past five Scrabble players and find the net via a nutmeg through the keepers' legs

---------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- ZACK NATHAN (NL Galaxy) - with a wonderful tip over the bar in the dying embers of the game - a Scrabble player has attempted an audacious lob from range but 'Pickford' himself with an acrobatic tip over the bar

- BEN LEWIS (Oakwood B) - one absolutely terrific stop low down to keep the game at 1-1

- ADAM ZAIDMAN (Los Camden B) - stunning point-blank stop against Jewdinese

- RICHIE CAPLIN (Redbridge JC A) -  a point-blank save in the first half to keep the game goalless. Just world-class

---------------------

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- AVI GOLDBERG (HMH) - "It started badly as three players failed fitness tests which reduced us to 12, and of those 12 three went to Kings Langley instead of Borehamwood!"

- RAY ABRAHAMS (Scrabble FC A) - "We met a quality side today. Galaxy are a good, young footballing side who are without doubt heading for the Premier Division, if not this season then next. Their second half display was awesome. They whipped the ball round quickly and didn’t hoof it but played some brilliant stuff and their finishing was clinical"

- DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood A) - "It's a marathon and not a sprint. We play Hendon two more times in the league. Everyone is beating everyone, we have three separate cup competitions so lots to pay for, although Dave Cohen and I expect us to perform better than we did in the final half an hour"

HENDON UNITED SPORTS 2 OAKWOOD A 0

Hendon United opened a three-point lead at the top of the table after winning the clash of the titans 2-0 at Hadley FC, in front of the JC cameras with goals from Jonny Kay and a penalty from Avi Korman.

Delighted Hendon boss Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "I asked the boys to step up today and to a man every single one of them did."

Oaks joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a very disappointing result after dominating the first half. I read one match report that said the first half was even. I strongly disagree and felt we were first to the ball, won most our battles with the only thing missing being our cutting edge."

LOS CAMDEN A 2 HMH 1

Gav Krieger and Oliver Sade saw helped Los Camden A finished the weekend in third place after claiming a stunning 2-1 victory over HMH.

George Goldberg had given HMH the lead against the run of play, but they were punished for failing to turn their superiority into goals as Los Camden hung in before equalising via Krieger a corner before grabbing a winner through Sade 10 minutes from time.

Jubilant Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: ‘I am so proud of the lads - this is a team with a never-say-die attitude that does not know when they are beaten. We were unlucky to go behind by freak goal and the boys rallied at half-time and got stuck in and ground the result I believe we deserved for the way we played today."

HMH manager Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "All credit to Stirling’s team. LC came out the blocks fast and aggressive and it took us a long time to find our game. A disappointing result but credit to Stirling’s team who battled away and showed they are a difficult team to beat."

DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK

LOS CAMDEN B 0 JEWDINESE 3

It was a case of fourth time lucky for Jewdinese who claimed their first win after a comfortable 3-0 triumph over Los Camden.

Los Camden's Richard Hayim told JC Sport: ‘It’s always tough to take a loss,  especially when you know you have a squad more than capable to challenge the top teams in the division. Credit to Jewdenese who played their football well, and seemed very comfortable playing together. We look forward to facing them again later on."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 3 FAIRLOP FC 5

A four-goal bonanza from the red-hot JAMES JACONELLI saw Fairlop maintained their excellent start with an impressive 5-3 win over Raiders, moving them to within a point of leaders Redbridge with a game in hand. Harrison Grant added the gloss on a big day for Aaron Dias's men.

Fairlop goalkeeper Jake Sanders told JC Sport: "We were far from our best today. Some poor defending on set-pieces allowed our opponents back into the game, but the second-half was much better and from the moment we levelled it at 3-3, there was only going to be one winner."

Aron Gale (2) and Jake Doffman registered for Raiders, and joint-manager Jake Yudelowitz told JC Sport: "Having been 3-2 up after going 1-0 and probably playing the worst football of our season so far, I thought this was going to be our day. Sadly some individual errors and one poor offside decision cost us ultimately."

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 1 OAKWOOD B 1

Leaders Redbridge A dropped points for only the second time this season as they were held by promotion rivals Oakwood B, with Louie Libbert's leveller ensuring the visitors came away with a draw.

Oakwood joint-managers Jason Stein and Simon Field told JC Sport: "A point in Essex is never to be sniffed at, so while we’re pleased with the point we know we left goals out there and should have won this one."

RJC boss Sam Rank told JC Sport: "Fair play to Oakwood for executing their game-plan and stopping us play. To win a league, there will be games like this, but to still be unbeaten shows great character by the RJC boys."

SCRABBLE FC A 0 NORTH LONDON GALAXY 9

TYLER SMITH scored the perfect hat-trick as North London Galaxy piled more misery on lowly Scrabble as they destroyed them 9-0, with super-sub JACK DAVIS also registering three times. Luke Lewis, Jonny Daitz and Josh Cohen completed the rout.

Galaxy joint-manager Luke Lewis told JC Sport: "It was a much-deserved win, we were ruthless from the offset. We learnt a lot last week and feel the new system compliments our personnel a lot better. We're gutted we couldn’t get to double figures but the clean sheet was crucial. It was a massive confidence booster."

Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams described Galaxy as "a very good side'. He told JC Sport: "It’s getting harder to pick people up after a bad run of losses, but we will do so and be back to go again next week against Jewdinese."

DIVISION TWO TEAM OF THE WEEK

FAITHFOLD DOC MM C 1 SCRABBLE FC B 1

Scrabble boss Jon Yantin conceded "Faithfold deserved their first point of the season" following a well-contested draw at the Hive.

Faithfold C came out strongly and bossed the game for the first half with the scores level at 1-1 at half-time, following an excellent solo goal from Faithfold's Avi Garson, with Scrabble's reply coming via Neil Kochane.

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 1 FAITHFOLD DOC MM B 0

Leaders Faithfold B saw their unbeaten record end at match six as they were edged out by Redbridge B, courtesy of an early strike from Steve Summers.

RJC boss Richard Bronzite told JC Sport: "It was a great response after last week. I couldn’t have asked for more. Now we're looking forward to having the weekend off."

Faithfold player-manager Martin Smulovitch reflected on "a thoroughly disappointing trip to Essex". He told JC Sport: "We struck the bar and there were a few glaring misses and on another day the scoreline could have been very different."

SPEC FC 1 MILL HILL DONS 1

Ricky Lawrence admitted SPEC FC rode their luck as promotion rivals SPEC FC and Mill Hill Dons finished honours even, just as I'd predicted!

Mark Leader struck for SPEC, and player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: “We were very, very lucky to only be 1-0 down at half-time but we put in a much better second-half performance and deserved our equaliser. MH Dons played some very good stuff and probably should have been out of sight. They’re a very good team and could have been out of sight but after we equalised, the game could have gone either way.”

Jordan Stein struck for the Dons, for whom boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "We were very unlucky today, there were some really good performances throughout the team. The atttiude and commitment was class."

TEMPLE FORTUNE 3 FC TEAM 2

A last-minute winner from Jacob Kalms ensured Temple Fortune exact revenge on an FC Team side who had thrashed them 9-1 less than a month ago, marking a remarkable turnaround for Simon Linden's men who have now won two out of two. Danny Sherman and Mark Singer also netted on a memorable days for Fortune.

Jubilant boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was an excellent win against tough opposition who destroyed us only last month. I believe we've turned the corner over the last two weeks - credit to the squad for all playing a part and winning two on the bounce. We must make sure we continue this form against SPEC FC next week which is a big test."
