GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

MITCHELL GERBER (Borussia Barnet) - stunning volley to seal the 2-0 win over Temple Fortune. Showed incredible resilience to cause the mistake and great technique to punish it

MAX BULL (HMH) - rounded off a superb move involving a defence splitting pass from Eli Wegrzyn and a quick low cross from Leo Berger to the onrushing Bull to tuck home

OSCAR WAGNER (HMH) - fired a worldie from 25 yards

JOE GOURGEY (Brook Farm Rovers) - after receiving the ball on the left-hand side of the box, he shifted it onto his right and bent one right knot the top bin, off the underside of the bar into the side-netting

LUKE LEWIS (North London Galaxy) - in the dying embers of the game Jayden Tomlinson had a shot which cannoned off the post, Lewis read where the ball is going to fall and in Chicarito Hernandez-esque fashion he acrobatically fired an overhead kicked it into the net. Limbs in Essex!

SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

JOE BOTCHIN (Borussia Barnet) - SAVE 1 - brilliant instinctive block from a one-on-one with Jordan Sharifian

JOE BOTCHIN (Borussia Barnet) - SAVE 2 - scrambled across his goal and got down well to a low driving heading towards the bottom corner

NICK STERN (Temple Fortune) - heroic goal-line headed clearance

QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

DARREN LAWRENCE (Jewdinese) - "I said to my players today that we simply weren’t good enough, but I now retract that. We played well and I take full responsibility for today’s result. That’s on me and I will tell my players that"

SIMON LINDEN (Temple Fortune) - "We can’t dwell on this result - Borussia shouldn’t be in our division and I expect them to win the the title and the division above next season. We matched them and that is encouraging and shows how far we have come and the potential we have"

LUKE LEWIS (North London Galaxy) - "It was a tough one as we played the first 20 mins with 10 men - and went 0-1 down - as the last minute decision to put the game on meant a few of our boys were late. Nonetheless, we dug deep and our togetherness got us the all important three points. Given the Jewdinese defeat to Raiders, anything but three points would've been catastrophic for our promotion push and for the morale of the camp"

RICKY LAWRENCE (SPEC FC) - “We weren’t great against 11 men and even worse against 10!"

HMH 5 FAIRLOP FC 0

OSCAR WAGNER was the hat-trick hero as HMH produced a five-star performance against Fairlop at the Hive.

Further strikes from Max Bull and Ethan Krell added the gloss for Avi Goldberg's boys. He told JC Sport: "After 30 minutes I thought it was going to be another one of those days where we played some great football, but a combination of good Fairlop goalkeeping and poor conversion stopped us from scoring double digits. However, our class really shone through in the second half and we won at a canter, even without the likes of Prais, Norton, Moss and Monjack."

BROOK FARM ROVERS 4 SPEC FC 0

A deadly double from top-scorer Dan Cohen inspired Brook Farm Rovers to an emphatic 4-0 win over SPEC.

Joe Gourgey and Aaron Benjamin cemented Rovers' third league win.

Rovers player-manager Dan Cohen told JC Sport: "It was a completely dominant performance by us for the whole game, despite playing 50 minutes with only 10 men! Luckily, a 3-0 lead at half-time meant we could control the second half and see it out comfortably. We knew three points was a must and we were up for it from the first whistle, knocked the ball around really nicely and scored some brilliant team and individual goals. A clean sheet was the icing on the cake as well."

SPEC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: “We weren’t great against 11 men, and even worse against 10!"

DC Prediction: Rovers 3 SPEC 1

JEWDINESE 0 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 1

A solitary strike from Matt Warner proved decisive as Raiders maintained their lead at the top following a hard-earned win over Jewdinese.

Jubilant NLR joint-manager Gideon Gale told JC Sport: "Where do I even start? Not our most brilliant performance but true grit, hard work and determination saw us home. The wind caused havoc but we tried to play our normal game and in the end got the result we deserved. From the sidelines, it looked like we wanted it more and I am so proud of all the boys today. An enormous step towards the goal we set ourselves at the beginning of the season. With three cup finals left, we know what we need to do and will ensure we do so! We look forward to next weeks game against Lions! It’ll be good to challenge ourselves against a team we’ll be playing against next year."

Disappointed 'Nese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: "It was a bitterly disappointing game today. Some really good chances went begging and ultimately it came down to one set-piece being the difference. Really frustrating and disheartening but we will keep battling. We will finish the league strongly and also look to win the David Wolff Trophy."

DC Prediction: Nese 1 NLR 1

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE 2 NORTH LONDON GALAXY 3

Player-manager Luke Lewis was the hero as North London Galaxy kept up the pressure on table-toppers Raiders with a hard-earned win at Redbridge Jewish Care.

Jayden Tomlinson and James Belchak also registered in a game where Galaxy dug deep to secure the points in a contest played in horrendous conditions.

Jack Joseph and Matt Niman replied for RJC.

Galaxy player-manager Luke Lewis told JC Sport: "The pitch was absolutely atrocious in all honesty and was virtually a swamp - we won this game through belief and determination, giving us a vital three points in our efforts to play Prem division football next year. Two games remain, two wins and we'll be playing where we feel as a club we deserve to be playing."

FC TEAM 7 SCRABBLE 0

Doubles from Mitch Young, Richard Salmon and David Cohen saw FC Team maintain their six-point cushion at the top after finishing in seventh heaven against Scrabble. Jonny Haik joined the party as FC Team secured their 11th win.

Delighted player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "We were at our clinical best today. It makes such a difference when we take our chances. We controlled the game for 90 minutes, moved the ball well and scored some nice team goals. Four league games to go and we are still top of the league. We will take each game as it comes and will look forward to the cup semi-final next week."

TEMPLE FORTUNE 0 BORUSSIA BARNET 2

Second-half strikes from Michael Kenley and a screamer from Mitchell Gerber helped grind down a resilient Fortune team at Silver Jubilee Park to leapfrog the hosts and finish the weekend in second place.

WATCH: MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Borussia Barnet Brad Papier told JC Sport: "It was a very commanding performance from us, keeping Temple Fortune to limited chances and a few long shots. We should’ve scored more but we’re delighted with the win to keep us in a great position to continue to challenge for the title."

PHOTOGALLERY

Fortune boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was a frustrating morning - the first half was very even and, to be honest the opening 15 minutes Barnet looked there for the taking. In the second half they scored very early and took a bit more control of the game but we had our fair share of chances and it could have been a different story."
