JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: CONTENDERS

HARRY GRAHAM (Hertswood Vale) - Dan Reuben chased down a loose ball into the far corner of the pitch, he picked up the ball and absolutely sold their defender before playing an inch-perfect ball into the box for Graham to head home

DOVI DIAMANT (MLFC Red) - a brilliantly worked goal. Alec Ezra broke free down the right and hits cross was superbly met by Diamant who glided the ball into the corner of the net

ZACH COHEN (Mill Hill Dons) - scored a delightful free-kick that left Dan Lipman stranded in the Raiders net

AMIT SHABTAI (Paris Saint-Jewmain) - a brilliant piece of individual play against the Ducks

HADLEY SILVER (Scrabble) - a superb free-kick against the Bears

ORON SHELDON (Borussia Barnet) - scored direct from a corner against West Hamdillah

DAN SELWYN (Oakwood) - another pile-driver - second week running. When he hits them, they stay hit

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: CONTENDERS

JAKE SANDERS (FAIRLOP FC)"The referee threatened to call the game off in the first-half because of a kit clash and I wish he'd gone through with it!"

JOEL NATHAN (MLFC RED) - "Having to deal with late withdrawals was not the best prep but we still fielded 12 players with both the club chairman, 61, and vice chairman, 50, putting their boots back on to help the club and with two other over-40’s in the team, we were glad to have a 16-year-old in the team to bring the average ages down"

JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - "I would also like to say a big shout-out to Joel Nathan and Andy Landesberg for going out of their way to field a team and ensure today’s game went ahead"

DAVID ISAACS (NL Raiders) - "Each week we are getting better and better and I can see everything that we are doing in training is really paying off ... however I do believe we still have another few gears to get to which is very exciting. We move on to next weeks game which will be a big test against Vale"

ELIO ELIA (Paris Saint-Jewmain) - "A special mention has to go to our Israeli debutant Amit Shabtai who scored a superb hat-trick and was a constant threat all game. The Ducks defence simply couldn't handle him. Not a bad start to English football"

BRAD PAPIER (Borussia Barnet) - "It was a very easy day at the office for the boys and now a nice break to look forward to before we come back in 2020. 22/27 points and quarter-final of the Morrison, not a bad start"

DAN COHEN (Brook Farm Rovers) - "We can be proud of the fact that we’ve taken points off most teams so far this season and are unbeaten in the league since September. We now look forward to a much needed Chanukah break to get the squad back to full health and rest assured we’ll be raring to go come January"

JAMES HARPIN (North West London Bears) - "There was nothing we can do when someone sticks a free-kick into the top corner. I got a slight finger on it but the ball was so far in the top corner"

MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - "Throughout the season you will have games where you can play nice football and score lots of goals but today was about who wanted it more"

LUKE LEWIS (North London Galaxy) - "We need to be gracious in both defeat and victory - fair play to BFR they showed great resilience to get back into the game but we let ourselves down. Unfortunately, if you want to make two mistakes in a game against an opposition who are hungry to beat you then you're going to struggle to win leagues. We have a winter break now which we'll use to get fitter and stronger, tackling the new year as a fresh slate"

DARREN LAWRENCE (Jewdinese) - "It’s nice to be going in at Chanukah on the back off a good run of form"

HMH 3 OAKWOOD 2

HMH boosted their title hopes with a thrilling 3-2 win over Oakwood, thanks to strikes from Nate Kashket, Oscar Wagner and an own goal.

Oakwood's goals came through top-scorer Josh Cuby and Dan Selwyn.

HMH boss Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: “This was by no means a vintage performance today. We found it hard to play our game and for that credit must go to Oakwood, but we made our chances and secured the points.”

Oaks Director of Football Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a tough game in which a draw would have been a fair result. We battled well after going a goal down early to an unfortunate own goal and dominated for large parts."

MLFC BLUE 3 FAIRLOP FC 0

CHARLIE EZRA's first Premier Division hat-trick steered MLFC Blue to a well-polished performance to see off Fairlop FC 3-0 at Rowley Lane.

MLFC joint-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "We were very pleased to keep the winning streak going and the buzz in the team is great at the moment. Another clean sheet for the back four and a hat-trick from youngster Charlie Ezra has made Laurence Judah and my weekend. Ezra has been going from strength to strength and has been impressing, so a hat-trick is no less than he has deserved."

Fairlop's Jake Sanders told JC Sport: "The referee threatened to call the game off in the first-half because of a kit clash and I wish he'd gone through with it!"

BROOK FARM ROVERS 2 NORTH LONDON GALAXY 2

A last-minute strike from Gav Nussbaum earned mid-table Brook Farm Rovers against leaders North London Galaxy. Nussbaum was joined on the scoresheet by joint-player-manager Dan Cohen.

Galaxy's goals came via Tyler Smith and player-manager Luke Lewis.

Proud Rovers joint-manager Dan Cohen told JC Sport: "We started very slowly, and credit to Galaxy they came out and showed why they are a top team and are challenging for the title. But we never gave up, and after half-time we showed why we are good enough to be in this division and deservedly got a point which seemed so unlikely after half an hour."

Galaxy player-manager Luke Lewis told JC Sport: "It was a sad one to take to be honest - we dominated the game and should've gone into the half 2-0 up but let BFR back into the game with an error which cost goals."

HERTSWOOD VALE 3 MLFC RED 1

Hertswood Vale continued their upwards trajectory after beating MLFC Red 3-1, just as predicted!

MLFC took the lead mid-way through the first half with a brilliant-worked goal. Alec Ezra broke free down the right and hits cross was superbly met by Dovi Diamant who glided the ball into the corner of the net.

It was not until the 60th minute when MLFC back-line was breached and once Vale got one their tails were up and the younger legs took control and MLFC just could not keep up, with Harry Graham, Charlie Becker and an own goal completing the comeback.

Triumphant Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "Based upon our performance for 70 minutes of the game, we can consider ourselves a little lucky. However, a win is a win not matter how ugly it was. Well played to MLFC, and best of luck for the season."

MLFC boss Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "I was extremely proud of our performance and the wins will come but just not this week."

Liron Mannie and Charlie Cohen fired two apiece, with further strikes from Alex Jacobs and Mikey Fields adding the gloss.

Top-scorer Zach Cohen fired a consolation for the visitors. Dons boss Jamie Nagioff told JC Sport: "Today was always going to be tough, playing a side that is by far the best in our division, but we still under-performed. Our injury list is proving a real issue at the moment but credit to Raiders who were very, very good on the ball."

Jubilant FC Team player-boss Mitch Young told JC Sport: ""We have now taken six points off of Chigwell, which is massive, and, of course, we remain undefeated this season. Chigwell are a good side we wish them well and know they will take points off a lot of teams."

CdC joint-manager James Rose told JC Sport: "It wasn’t meant to be today. Personally I’m surprised the referee allowed the game to go ahead today but if I speak I will get a fine by the MGBSFL. We are only half-way through the season so still a long way to go and hopefully the second half the season will be more prosperous for us."
