Raiders made it 24 points out of 24 as goals from Ben Ellis and Jordan Marks sealed win number eight against Lions at Brunel.

In the first half Lions pressed and harried and worked very hard to close down any space. However they could do nothing with the opener, a goal which won't be bettered this season in the league. Jordan Marks took down a difficult ball with his chest on the left flank, he then pushed the ball past his marker before delivering a lofted cross to the edge of the box where Ellis swivelled and volleyed low into the bottom corner. A super opener which left all in attendance applauding in admiration.

Marks, Rhodes and Kay all had chances to extend the lead but in truth Lions work-rate meant 1-0 was probably a fair reflection at half-time.

The second half though was "as complete and mature a performance" as Raiders have produced this season. They scored early in the second half through the ever-impressive Marks and that deflated Lions somewhat.

Thereafter the midfield three of Kay, Joseph and the returning Mannie controlled the game and the only disappointment were the chances NLR missed to extend our lead.

NLR keeper Jake Doffman, though, was not called to make a save of note until the very last minute.

Raiders boss Rob Richman told JC Sport: "Today was a really pleasing win against a very combative side.

"We can be very pleased with our morning's work. It sets us up nicely for a massive game next week against Hendon."
