MACCABI LONDON LIONS BLUE vs NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS A
Bouncebackability is the name of the game for Raiders on Sunday as they look to recover from the Morrison defeat against Hendon.

The Hendon game was only the second time this season L’Orange have failed to score in a game and I expect them to arrive in determined mood as they look to complete a league double over the boys from Rowley Lane.

David Dinkin was NLR’s match-winner in the first meeting, steering his team to a 3-1 victory and another former Lions man, Jonathan Green, told me in the build-up to kick-off that the title-challengers have dusted themselves down and are ready to go again.

Green told JC Sport: “We are all looking forward to getting back on the pitch on Sunday and putting last week’s disappointing result behind us.

“Lions at Rowley Lane is never an easy game and although we have come out on top in the two games we have played against them this season, they have both been very competitive and Sunday will be no different.”

JJ Spiro and Ben Joseph will be keen to impress against their former club, with NLR fans delighted to see the influential Joseph returning to the fold. They certainly missed his quality, experience and cutting edge last week.

Green added: “I am sure that Lions will have a strong side out and they will be eager to finish the season strongly.

“This is the start of an important stretch of games for us, but we will only be focusing on the challenge of Lions on Sunday and taking three points away from Rowley Lane.

Ben Lampert earned Lions a crucial point against Oakwood last week. Nick Landesberg and James Peter also caught the eye and there was some exciting transfer news coming out of the MLL dressing room ahead of the game.

Lions boss Jamie Kyte told JC Sport; “We've unfortunately got quite a few boys out this weekend. However, they plan to reveal a 17-year-old international who holds a dual nationality passport (UK and Canada). It'll be a gamble but one that we're happy to take against Raiders.”

I don’t expect the Lions to make things easy for Raiders but I think the visitors have extra motivation and will get the job done in a game of small details.

JC team news: Lions missing Lipton, Springer, D Kosky, Green and Franks. Hopefully Jacobson should be returning from injury.

NLR are missing Josh Pistol and Elliott Espinoza, but welcome back Ben Joseph and also David Rhodes who is now fully fit.

HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A vs FC TEAM A
Hendon are now the only team capable of doing the treble after last week’s huge result against Raiders.

David Garbacz’s troops have great inner belief and confidence in one another. They are as close-knit as they coming. After David Seitler’s second-minute strike, they battled like warriors and keeper Russell Corin didn’t have a noteworthy save to make.

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS - RAIDERS vs HENDON

Garbacz knows FC Team will be no-pushovers and indeed, his players will approach the game showing the opposition respect.

He told JC Sport: “Once again we find ourselves with numerous injuries and the depth of our squad will be well and truly tested.

“Although this is not the glamour tie of last week, it is no less important in our quest for league points and we must make sure we are well focused as FC Team can be very dangerous opponents.

“They seem to have hit a bit of form of late and twice this year they have taken the lead against us and we don't want to be in that position this week.”

“Every game is now like a cup final - there is no margin for error and it will be tense. We are expecting a very tough match but hopefully our extra motivation will see us to the win.”

FC Team have responded positively since their most recent defeat against Hendon. Eitan Ben-Zion has been one of their most consistent players and his battle with Seitler is definitely one to watch.

The visitors know they must still pick up some points to ensure Premier Division football again next season. I think they will be fine, but I think it will be Hendon smiling again at the final whistle.

JC team news: Rafi and Ben Kon are away for Hendon, while Yoav Kestenbaum “is probably out for the season” with suspected ligament damage. Alex Rosenthal is injured, while Ben Lauffer and Tali Nevies are rated doubtful.

HARMEN vs OAKWOOD A
Although they are 12 points off the summit, with two games in hand on leaders Hendon, Harmen believe they are still in the title mix and they go in search of win no. 8 against Oakwood on Sunday.

James Gershfield and Sam Castle, well, his backside, noch, steered them into the last four of the Morrison following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Neasden last week in a game where they were pushed all the way.

Having drawn 3-3 against Oakwood in the first league meeting, the Harmen boys know they are in for another tough 90 minutes against a team who never go through the motions.

Harmen joint-manager Joel Alterman told JC Sport: "Oakwood have caused us trouble on two occasions this season - in the league we had a high-scoring draw and this side of the new year we made them look like world-beaters in the Cyril Anekstein Cup.

"In the last few weeks we have comfortably beaten a couple of the big names in the league and progressed through to the semi-finals of the Peter Morrison Trophy and we want to keep our run of good form going on Sunday. Barring the few long term injuries, we have a full squad available to us."

Co-boss Oli Leslie told JC Sport: "We must keep our momentum going after three successive wins. Raiders losing last week will surely dent their confidence so the league title is definitely still up for grabs.

"Complacency is not an option this weekend, three points is the only acceptable outcome against a tricky opponent, Oakwood."

Guy Helman earned Oakwood their third draw last week, which kept them above the Lions, in a game where Simon Davies caught the eye.

But joint-manager Ric Blank is treating this game as every other, he wants to win it.

“We’ve got a really big game to wake us up on Sunday - against Southgate,” Blank told JC Sport. “We’ve had two great games against them with a lot of goals and we’re really looking forward to a third.

“We’ve got nothing to play for (bar a total disaster and we go down) so we're just there to have a great game and build a bit of confidence.

“We’ve spoken about how our season has turned out – that’s done with now. There’s no point moping. We’ll put out a strong side and see where it takes us. The boys are up for it. I'm sure Southgate are too.”

Harmen need the points to keep their title hopes alive and I think they will get them, just, in a tussle where the head-to-head between David Woolman and Gershfield will not disappoint.

JC team news: Oakwood are missing Dan Ailion, Eddie Manson and Jonny Quinn. Brothers Dan and Josh Rose return, along with Dan Selwyn.

NORTH WEST NEASDEN vs FAITHFOLD A
Recovery time is everything for Neasden who have a massive game against Faithfold.

They gave a star-studded Harmen team a run for their money and it’s important they maintain the same high level of performance against a team with little more than pride to play for.

Dan Andrews was Neasden’s star man last week. It was he who set up the goal for Adam Arnold and he will be looking to bomb forward as Neasden go in search of goals.

Neasden boss Stirling Kay described Sunday’s meeting against Faithfold as “the first of seven cup finals”. He told JC Sport: “We have to play Faithfold twice in three weeks and we need six points to give ourselves a chance of avoiding relegation.

“I know our squad is more than good enough but our lack of depth and lack of fitness has meant we have lost too many games by the odd goal. Also, some of the new players we have signed have been known to pull out on the night before or on the day of the game, which is hugely frustrating.

“My regular players have been let down massively, especially as a lot of these players have been friends of the players, but we will keep fighting and hopefully my lads will get the rub of the green and get decisions going our way that the boys deserve.”

Neasden and Faithfold have enjoyed some almighty battles over the years. Although the Superhoops have nothing riding on the game, they won’t roll over and die on Sunday.

Heavy defeats against Harmen and Raiders have taken their toll but a mid-table finish has given manager Zuriel Solomon plenty to build on as he looks to freshen things up over the summer.

Ahead of Sunday, Solomon told JC Sport: “We come in to our two last games against Neasden in what has been a very indifferent year.

“We don’t know much about Neasden, but ultimately will make sure we respect our opponents.

“It’s sounds like they were unlucky in their cup game last week so I am sure they will be determined to prove a point.

“We will make sure that we work hard and hope to come away with the right result.”

Neasden are packed with warriors who won’t make things easy for Faithfold. They will battle for every ball and leave nothing on the pitch in terms of effort. And if they are clinical in front of goal I can see them edging home.

JC team news: Neasden’s squad is unchanged, however they await news on Michael Field (chest infection) and Rob Caplin (work commitments).

Faithfold are missing No Dan Stock, but Sam Reeves returns from suspension.

WOODFORD WANDERERS vs REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A
Derby fever is in the air in Essex as basement battlers Woodford prepare to do battle with Redbridge.

RJC smashed their local rivals in November, led by B-team talisman Daniel Garfinkle. He finished with a hat-trick that day in a one-sided contest. Ben Sollosi, Richie Caplin and Harrison Grant added the gloss in a 7-0 mauling.

It’s clear RJC boss Sam Rosenthal is relishing Sunday’s clash. He told JC Sport: “We hope to batter them, in a friendly way in what will be a festival of football.”

Woodford have had a few weeks to recover from the brutal battering at the hands of champions Hendon. They continue to leak goals, despite the best efforts of goalkeeper Ben Rosenthal, and look to have it all to do against a star-studded team.

Having worked so hard to get into the top-flight, the signs are that Woodford will go down fighting, but I think Redbridge will hold all the aces on Sunday.

JC team news: Steve Summers, Danny Hakimi and Craig Sandford are all back in contention. Adam Shafron and Brad Gayer both miss out through suspension.

NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS C vs L’EQUIPE
Opportunity knocks for both Raiders and L’Equipe on Sunday in what is a must-win for the visitors.

The defeat against London Rovers has left them with an uphill task to qualify, but they have the chance to put down a marker before a potentially huge league meeting against L’Orange, when they second division status could be on the line.

The teams have met once this season, but both sets of fans came away disappointed after a goalless draw.

NLR are finishing the season strongly. Last week’s defeat against Camden was disappointing but manager Zack Gothelf took away several positives from the game in what was a much reshuffled line-up.

But with home advantage, I expect them to do the business and eliminate L’Equipe.

NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS B vs FC TEAM B
There’s a top quality game in store here as old foes Raiders B and Team B go head to head with the title of group winners up for grabs.

Battles between Raiders and FC Team never disappoint. But teams are packed with quality from back to front and the match certainly wouldn’t look out of a place as the cup final.

Both Raiders and Team have already clinched promotion in the league, with Mitch Young’s men going up as champions and I’m predicting an action-packed 90 minutes.

Team have the better defensive record and have been firing on all cylinders. I fancy them causing what would be a mini upset.

MACCABI LONDON LIONS GREEN vs BOCA JEWNIORS
Tygerpaw owner Gabriel John knows all about dead-rubbers, but his players won’t need much motivating for a rare outing to the Lane.

His boys gave an excellent account of themselves against FC Team B last time out and they go to Arkley with nothing to lose.

The Lions have picked up four points out of a six possible in the league this season, with a 6-1 victory in the most recent meeting against Boca.

Josh Marlow was imperious against FC Team and John will be looking for a repeat performance against a fight and technically gifted Lions outfit.

Blizzard Storm Pl. 1, Pts. 0

AC MILL HILL vs BLIZZARD STORM
Simon Linden is confident of coming away from Mill Hill with maximum points as they look to get their first BGT on the board against their second division opposition.

Having finished the league campaign with back-to-back victories, I expect momentum to take the Blizzard boys through on Sunday.

Linden told JC Sport: “It's been five weeks since our first BGT match against SPEC FC; it wasn't the game I had in mind and we have to put it right this Sunday if we are to have any chance of progressing through to the last eight.

“Mill hill have had a good season, so I'm expecting a tough task, but I’m confident we will get the points.”

Dan Beresford boys drew their opener. A draw would keep them in the mix but it’s three points the gaffer wants most on Sunday, though he knows they have to improve defensively.

I look at this game and the way Blizzard are set up at the minute and I only see one outcome.

JC team news: The ever-impressive Conor Brand faces a late fitness test for Blizzard. Robbie Berwald and Joe Stolerman are away.

GROUP D
Oakwood B Pl. 1, Pts. 3
Hendon B Pl. 1, Pts. 1
Jewdinese Pl. 1, Pts. 1
Temple Fortune Pl. 1, Pts. 1

HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB B vs OAKWOOD B
I tipped Oakwood to win the group at the outset and I with Jacob Richler-Kleiman and Charles Cohen in great nick, I can’t see them failing.

The mighty Oaks got off to a flyer against Fortune and they will be on the goal trail against third division Hendon B on Sunday.

The only blot on the copybook was Josh Berkley’s red card but I doubt boss Jason Stein will hold it against him and he look certain to give him a place in the starting XI as they look to seal qualification with a game to spare.

Hendon have failed to win their last three games in league and cup, but under Adam Glekin, you can be sure they will give it a good go on Sunday.

But I believe Oakwood are superior man for man and they should go on to win by a couple of goals.

Venue – Ref – Neal Cohen

JC star man: Josh Berkley (Oakwood)

DC Prediction: Hendon 1 Oakwood 3

----------------------------
----------------------------

JEWDINESE vs TEMPLE FORTUNE
Jewdinese are hanging on to their Division Two status by a thread at the minute, but they can turn their attentions to the BGT as they look to register their first win against Division Three strugglers Temple Fortune.

Sunday’s contest is an intriguing battles between youth and experience and I’d be surprised if we saw anything other than a ‘Nese win. A firm surface is on the cards after a week without rain and I can see the likes of Zack Collins getting behind the Fortune defence and filling his boots.

I hope manager Darren Lawrence gives Josh Frey another chance up top. He definitely deserves after doing the business last time out.

But Fortune love the tag of underdogs. They recently beat a good Sosobad team and manager Jonathan Cohen will be keen to wipe the slate clean after defeats against Oakwood, London Rovers and Shacharit Donetsk.

When all is said and done, Fortune’s lack of goals could come back to bite them in the tuchas.

BRADY MACCABI vs CAMDEN PARK
The battle for third place continues with Brady looking to build on their excellent performance against Los Blancos, when they host Camden Park.

Everyone was talking about that James Joseph strike at training. It was a peach of the goal and it didn’t take the JC panel of judges long to name it Goal of the Week.

Daniel Harrod reminded Brady fans of his qualities, but it was two-goal hero Matt Frohlich who took home the bubbly at the final whistle after his match-winning performance.

Camden ran out 4-2 victors over Brady earlier in the season. Josh Marks, Dan Baneth (2) and
Mike Khalastchi did the damage in a game they staged a fantastic comeback after trailing 2-0.

Baneth was the game-changer that day, as he has been a couple of times this season and if you’re looking for a good quality game between two talented sides, then I encourage you to visit the Lane on Sunday.

BRIXTON OLD BOYS vs SPEC FC
SPEC FC will be looking to fight fire with fire on Sunday as they look to finish their league campaign on a high.

Their focus has shifted to the Barry Goldstein Trophy of late, but they must give Brixton 100 per cent attention and respect on Sunday. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

SPEC’s Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: “It's simple, win and we stay up. We've got a few unavailable but hopefully we'll have enough to keep us in the division."

Brixton went down 4-2 to SPEC earlier in the season. Anything less than three points for Alan Aaronson boys and it could all end in tears.

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B vs ATHLETIC BILBAUM
I hope the Baums give champions Redbridge B the guard of honour in a dead-rubber of a game.

The Baums' fate was sealed some weeks ago, but they can play with freedom on Sunday and try to go toe-to-toe with a team who will be playing in the top tier next season.

RJC have been imperious this season, with Sam Sollosi and top-scorer Daniel Garfinkle on target in the 2-0 win over the Baums in September - one of 10 wins.

KING CROWN vs LONDON ROVERS
Ten points separate champions London Rovers and nearest rivals King Crown ahead of Sunday’s showdown.

Rovers have kept eight clean sheets this season, one of which was against Crown, when top-scorer Avi Markiewicz registered in a 2-0 win and they are confident of coming away from the Lodge with a win double.

Looking ahead to the game, Rovers boss Jeremy Brown told JC Sport; “We now have two league games remaining and we still have so much to play for. We want to finish with the best possible record.

“Last week’s win over L'Equipe was a big confidence boost to know that we can beat teams in a higher division.

“This game against King Crown will be very difficult. We know how hard we had to work to beat them last time and they are still fighting for second place.

“I want the players to keep showing improvement and become even more difficult to beat each week.

“Being the best is about consistency and people tend to remember your last performance so we need to keep that in mind. We'll be going out on the pitch this week to put on good show."

KC’s destiny lies in their own hands. But only just. Real Sosobad are breathing down their necks and it’s important they handle the pressure in their last two games.

I can see them approaching the game with caution, as if they adopt a gung-ho attitude, they will be picked off.

REAL SOSOBAD vs SHACHARIT DONETSK
It’s a big weekend for Real Sosobad as the race for the runners-up spot hots up.

Dan Shafron’s boys will be looking to overcome Shacharit and hope champions London Rovers can do them a favour against promotion hopefuls Kings Crown.

A hat-trick of victories have followed the shock defeat at home to Temple Fortune, but Shafron erred on the side of caution at his pre-match press conference.

He told JC Sport: “We know that Shacharit will pose a real threat going forward. Their striker seems to score goals for fun but it is important that we focus on our own game.

“The team have played some excellent football recently and as each week goes on, confidence builds the understanding between players gets better.

“The focus still remains automatic promotion and another win this weekend will keep us on track.”

Adam Ellis climbed to the top of the MGBSFL goal charts last week and he is the biggest threat as far as Sosobad are concerned.

Shafron would love a player of his calibre in his team – promotion would be nailed on if that was the case.

But with Barry Green, Richard Rosenthal and Josh Jacobs in good form, it has all the makings of a real thriller.
