Jonny Rose has set his sights on silverware to lift the spirits of his young Manchester Maccabi Blue side.

It's been a season to forget in the MJSL with Rose’s men lying bottom of the table.

But they have progressed to the semi-finals of the Harold Feldman Trophy and are also in the last-eight of the Tony Cohen Cup following his crushing win.

Maccabi Blue routed South Manchester Sports 3rd here and Rose said: "Winning a trophy would be just reward for the effort put in this season.

"The table doesn’t reflect our performances. Whenever we have lost a game, besides being battered by Oakhill, it has only ever been by one goal. We are not far away.

"We have a team of half a dozen kids who are under-17 mixed with a few veterans. It’s about development rather than just results.

"And these boys are stepping up every week and giving their all against men in most circumstances. They can hold their heads up high."

Mark Mann and Charlie Simpson bagged doubles while Nathan Pitt, Darren Loofe and Moishe Hasid also weighed in.

The visitors, also struggling near the bottom of the league, hit back twice via Mike Herman but bowed out.
