Maccabi London FC Brady and Maccabi London FC Lions - two of the anticipated contenders - met in their opening games of the league campaign with Lions emerging 2-0 winners.

Pete Lazard headed home the opener following a precision corner from Danny Reuben.

Reuben went on to secure the points from the penalty spot, after Gideon Barnett had been fould by Brady defender Nigel Goldthorpe.

Hendon Harriers took a 2-0 lead in their game against Temple Fortune, through strikes from Nick Roman and Andy Diamond.

But two goals inside the final four minutes from Gil Ashkenazy and Brian Deal denied Harriers the win and salvaged a point for Fortune.

And goals from Jason Rich, Sid Shaw and Gary Adams earned Glenthorne a 3-1 victory over St John’s Wood Tigers, with Jason Bentley replying for Tigers.
