articlemain

Division One leaders North London Raiders dropped their first points of the season as they were held to a 1–1 draw by HMH in the Maccabi Masters League.

The in-form Tony Plaskow registered for NLR, while Neil Kochane converted a penalty for HMH.

Waldaf Town returned to winning ways with an emphatic 8–3 win over Faithfold. Waldaf’s goals came from Marc Cutler (3), Alex Bourne (2), Mike Lax (2) and a 30-yarder from Hezi Yechiel. Ali Marks and Boris Simons (2) replied for Faithfold.

Zigzag Marshside also got back into win mode as they avenged their opening day defeat at the hands of Temple Fortune by beating them 6–2.

Sam Nourazi opened the scoring, and ex-Manchester City winger Barry Silkman added a second from a tight angle just before the break.

Further goals from Faramarz Moghim (2), Jason Rich and a second from Silkman completed the Marshside scoring, with Yali Mamouri and Andy Montlake replying for Fortune in the Division Two encounter.

Goals from Perry Somers and Andrew Cohen earned St John’s Wood Tigers a narrow 2–1 win over Hendon Harriers. Simon Black pulled one back.

And the revolving door at the top of the table continues to turn as EDRS Stonegrove resumed their place in top spot, as they beat Glenthorne 3–1.

Martin Seifert, Mark Kingston and Marc Schneiderman saw them home. Mike Nathan grabbed Glenthorne’s consolation.
