MJSL JOAN COLLINS PREMIER DIVISION
HEATON PARK ROVERS 1 MACCABI MANCHESTER 2nd 7
Adam Herman and Jack Myers bagged hat-tricks as Maccabi Manchester 2nd returned to winning ways in style.
The runaway leaders had seen their lead cut at the summit following successive draws, but they swept HPR aside to underline why Irving Modling’s men remain the team to beat.
Modlin said: "We feared this could be one game where we come unstuck – but this win never looked in doubt.
"It was a game we dominated from the off and got stronger as it wore on.
"Adam and Jack will earn the plaudits, but they were not the only good performers.
"Jonny Davies returned for the first time since breaking his ankle last season and he was outstanding in the middle of the park."
Herman and Myers’ treble, along with an own goal, condemned an in-form HPR to a heavy loss.
Jonathan Franks grabbed the hosts’ goal, but it proved little more than a consolation.
